New Komplete HPA Tube From Umarex

New Komplete HPA Tube From Umarex

Now there’s a new Komplete HPA Tube from Umarex. This tube enables the Komplete air rifle to be used with High Pressure Air, rather than its own dedicated Nitrogen cartridges.

“But hey”, I hear you say. “Didn’t Air Venturi already introduce a HPA tube for the Komplete?

Well, the answer is yes, they did. However there are some differences between the Umarex tube and the Air Venturi one, as follows…

Komplete HPA Tube Comparison – First Capacity

Both HPA tubes have approximately the same capacity. It’s 130cc for the Air Venturi unit and 132 cc for the Umarex one. It’s doubtful if anyone will notice the difference there.

Komplete HPA Tube Comparison – Second Pressure

The new Komplete HPA Tube from Umarex accepts a maximum fill pressure of 4,500 PSI. This is considerably more than the 3,625 PSI of the Air Venturi unit. This will give a considerably greater number of shots for a fill of High Pressure Air for the Umarex tube.

Komplete HPA Tube Comparison – Third Price

The Air Venturi tube is selling at $99.99. That’s a good price and the Umarex tube is more expensive at $129.99.

Komplete HPA Tube Comparison – Fourth Pressure Gauge.

Here is a HUGE advantage for the new Umarex HPA tube. It has one and the Air Venturi model does not!

Now it’s true that it’s not completely necessary to have a pressure gauge on the HPA tube. After all, most people will fill these tubes – as they do with any other PCP airgun – using the larger, easier-to-read and likely more accurate gauge on their tank, compressor or hand pump.

However, it is very useful to be able to monitor the pressure in the gun with a built-in pressure gauge. Plus the Umarex tube has a gauge that – while mounted at the end – can be read from the side. Not only that, but it can be rotated (when not under pressure) into any required position for ease of reading.

So here we have a front-mounted HPA pressure gauge that does NOT require you to “look down the barrel” to read. That’s really excellent!

I have been banging-on about the potential dangers of end-mounted HPA pressure gauges for a long time and I am delighted that some manufacturers appear to be taking notice. Well done Umarex!!!

So this is another great step forward by Umarex for the Komplete. The gun is looking ever-more like a comprehensive “platform product”, combining great performance, low price and unparalleled versatility.

Now there’s yet another reason to buy a Komplete, whether you want to shoot it with Nitro Power, 88/90 Gram CO2, 12 Gram CO2 cartridges, or High Pressure Air. There’s no other air rifle in the market that can match it!

What put me off to these originally was the price of the co2 cartridges. With this it's more viable as a budget gun
My wife Elaine won one in the HAM pumpkin carving challenge. I can’t wait to try it, but she hasn’t shot it yet and I think she should shoot it first. But, we were a little turned off by the cartridges. Then at Christmas I saw the 2 packs on the shelf at Academy Sports for $13 a box. There was no sale sign and I assumed wrongly that was their regular discounted price. So, I didn’t buy any. I went back to find out that was a sale price lol. It’s a great concept. My middle grandson is a great example. I would buy a PCP for my grandson as he’s really into airgunning. But, he’s 11 and my daughter is a single parent and I’m not going to let an 11 year old play with 200-300bar filling solutions. The Komplete is the almost perfect solution to this dilemma. Except, that at $25 (Inc sales tax) per 2 cartridges (60-80 shots) is cost prohibitive for most consumers. Umarex needs to give me a job. I’d turn this product into a mass selling, profit generating product center. It has so much potential.
Back to the topic. I will be buying this Umarex tube. I was going to buy one of the other solutions, but this looks like the best solution. I can’t wait for my turn to shoot it. Thanks again to @hameditor @pan60 and Umarex for providing a fun opportunity and a great prize. I believe Elaine plans to knock @wolfmangreg off of the winners perch this year using her prize lol. Wouldn’t that be wild.

@Billm I agree that the Komplete is a great concept with a ton of potential. Look forward to hearing what you and Elaine think of it once you get it going...
