The Arken line of optics has put really nice quality glass in the hands of those that can’t or don’t want to spend half or more of a biweekly paycheck on a scope. Very well priced glass even at the top of their lineup. I didn’t go with their top-o-the-line offering for my next scope. Instead, somewhere in the middle I think? 🤔. The Arken LH4 4-16x44 in MOA reticle.

This isn’t a scope for dialing on the PRS range. With its capped turrets, it is a very well qualified FT/Benchrest/Hunting/Plinking optic, where dialing either isn’t allowed or necessary.

Available with an MOA or MIL reticle, this optic has most shooters requirements met.

The reticle has the normal Christmas tree type view as many optics have these days. I particularly like the small center dot that my Athlons lack. Except the Ares scope on my Impact, my other Athlons I wish had the dot, I just prefer it over the crosshairs.

Controlling the adjustment of the reticle is by way of those capped turrets. Moderately large dials make it easy to adjust elevation and windage. With nice audible clicks with the process, counting your clicks is easy. IMG_7125.webp

The focus knob turns firmly and solid from 10-200 yards and then to infinity from there. The 4-16 power zoom is the same firm solid feel. I have not used the adjustable brightness of the lit reticle as of yet, and I rarely do anyway. IMG_7127.webp
My intent is to mount this on my .22 Benjamin Akela that I robbed the Athlon Helos Gen II off of for the XM1 Scout I recently purchased. If there is an available parallax FT wheel I may just mount this on my FX Dreamline FT rifle. I need to do a little research into that.

The glass is nice and clear from 4 to 16 power with no distortion in optical clarity from what I can tell thus far. A sunshade is included in the packaging as well as nicely fitted rubber “bikini” style end caps. No flimsy plastic caps with lose springs. On or off protection for the glass.

I look forward to getting it mounted and look forward even more to shooting weather. Single digits and still a foot of snow on my range has me opting out of any shooting til the weather breaks, in July 🤦🏻‍♂️.

The cost of this gem shipped to my house was a very reasonable $270.00 +\- using their very easily obtained discount code. ARKEN = 20% off at checkout. Pretty hard to beat that. Happy shooting everyone. 🎯
