Marauder Marauder side-lever version?

I recently saw a video on the airgunnation instagram page, featuring John Salpietro of crossman/Benjamin at pyramid air cup this year using a "hybrid" side-lever version of the marauder (had a challenger block and a SAM tube iirc). Here is a link to the video for anyone interested.

I remember reading a HAM article back in August 2021 about side-lever version of the marauder showing up at a field target match. Here is a link to the article for anyone interested.

I was wondering, is Benjamin/Crossman going to move forward with production for the side-lever version of the Mrod ? Don't get me wrong the marauder is an amazing and well-established platform... It would just be really nice to have a side-lever version available straight out of the box.

i have never held either but looked at he marauder and the CAYDEN last year.

I really couldn't say since I haven't seen the cayden up-close. All I know is that it's made in Turkey not in the USA like the marauder. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that it's a bad gun (how could I if I haven't handled it). But it's always nice to have multiple options.

My Cayden is much nicer than any marauder I’ve owned. But yeah… it’s not made here. But I’m glad it has parts available here at the very least.
Edit** the marauder trigger is admittedly 10000% better than the trigger on the craftsman series rifles.

That's nice! I have looked at it at some point but as far as I recall it's not yet available around here in Greece (the marauder is in it's non-regulated bolt-action format). Parts availability is indeed a major factor when choosing a rifle.

well i am the first to say i like USA made guns and thats nothing against the cayden but the whole OSA made gun thing is why i grabbed the EVOL
i do wish we would have more USA made guns.

That’s a big reason I also bought an Evol. Dana’s videos contributed to my delinquency a great deal as well. I’m always on the lookout for anything that’s over-built.
The Cayden certainly is not over-built to any degree, but it is definitely nicer in the hands than the marauder.

after i seen Danas video i called Tom nd said if you dont take care of Dane your a fool!

that video was what tipped the scale for me i was looking at a couple others.

People seem to like my Mrod/Challenger mash-up. I really enjoy shooting it. The changes we made to the Challenger breech and barrel really help with loading a pellet. That is why 3 of the 4 guys on the Benjamin Shooting Team are running that breech.

As for the question as to will you see a side lever on Mrods right from the factory, time will tell.
