Break Barrel HW77's - why are they still catalogued?

But it is curious. I suppose that the rifle with its low comb stock and excellent sights is different enough from a 97 that it accounts for enough sales. Maybe.

Just pondering. If anyone has some insight, I'd like to hear it though.

I'd takea 77 over a 97 anyway hands down .. I guess the profit margin markup is just better on the 97 so they push it most ..

Some people prefer iron sights which would require a low comb stock.

That don't stop hw on other models that got sights..lol 100 years of complaints of comb for irons and never change a thing ..lol

Like my hw95. How much a better gun it could be if it had a nice adult fit and comb to comfortable use irons ..

I shoot it pretty much 97.8956% on it's stock irons but it ain't no where near as comfortable to shoulder aim and shoot as my cheaper plastic gamo is ..

Is that the difference between the HW77 and the HW97, the height of the comb on the stock? I never knew that and had been wondering for a few years the difference between the two models.

The 77 just comes off the more traditional gun as well . Just a nicer line and appearance. (Opinion) ..

Ya, maybe one day I'll grow up and get one .. but I guess it's that easy be thing that keeps eluding me ..lol.

Here's mine. Circa 2002 IIRC. A fine rifle all the way around.
The Riton, however, gave up the ghost and is beingreplaced. As an aside, they were 1st class when I made my replacement claim.

They probably figure by the time you're spending for an HW, you're going to be wanting a scope. Personally I'd like factory peep sights, but I am apparently in the minority with that preference.

Just less for them in cost . Then higher profits . Let's you spend not them ..lol

I mean if you don't want the irons there easy to remove ..

My saying is " buying a gun without sights is like buying a car without a steering wheel"

I guess like with pcp folks like guns they can't shoot unless that spend hundreds more to try to make it ..lol
