Introductions Hello from Blighty!

Good to be here. I used to subscribe in HAMs early days when it was an on line magazine.
UK born and bred, was introduced to guns by my grandpa back in the early '60s when he let me shoot a .32 H&R revolver he'd kept from WW2 when he headed up a home guard unit.
Served 30 years as a UK Police officer ending up as a Firearms incident commander.
Shot .22 and full bore pistols until they were banned here, and also combat shotguns. Then moved across to airguns. Still shooting as a pensioner - always interesting to read about some of the amazing air weapons you can enjoy "across the pond."

I've got a selection of pistols running from the lovely little Canadian Alias Gem in .177, 6mm and .50 calibre, various other air pistols included an incredibly accurate Rohm Twinmaster C02 pistol which is about 30 years old and a joy to shoot.
On the air rifle front a couple of break barrel guns and a Diana trailscout which is quite fun to shoot.
The only good thing to come out of the awfulness that was Dunblaine was that, in banning most pistols, the UK government took C02 weapons off ticket, so at least some of our 'toys' look like what we used to be allowed.
I'm a purely informal target and plinker as, sadly, my eyes aren't what they used to be.

Understood about the Dunblane stuff - and also the eysight! Until the mid-90s, I lived in England and used to shoot fullbore military rifle - and pistol - at Bisley. Since being in the USA I have stuck almost entirely to airguns.

It is good that you can still enjoy some airgunning in the U.K.
12 ft lb. limit would be fine as my favorite new air rifle only puts out 7.5 ft.lbs.
(Beeman R7, like an HW30s).

Unfortunately you guys don't get the full auto capable BB guns though.
I don't think I'd like the Umarex Thompson I have near as much if it didn't have that full auto position !

I've always been envious of your full auto BB guns ever since I read an article in 1976 in Guns & Ammo magazine about a 'new' full auto BB gun running on a Freon canister, as I recall it had a clear plastic tube as the magazine but, for this then 17 year old, it looked the business.
