Hi Everyone!

I am about to order a FX Impact Superior 4.5mm barrel kit to play with on my M4. Unfortunately I cannot find any M4 4.5mm magazines locally but I can find the 4.5mm magazine for the M3. Would I be able to use the M3 magazine on the M4?

Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Rudi

I have just had a replay from a dealer saying the 4.5mm magazine from a M3 will work on the M4 so I think I will order the barrel kit and magazines. It is only a 500mm liner but I think that will be fine for 25m benchrest.

Good you got the answer, but yes you can definitely run M3 mags on an M4, a fair amount of compatibility between the 2. I recall Matt Dubber saying that in his Intro vid to the M4

Thanks for the confirmation!

I thought I heard it somewhere, most likely on Matt's video. I have had a bit of information overload the last 2 weeks since I jumped head-first into the benchrest world! Things are getting mixed up a bit.....

Things got straight up unhealthy for me when I was researching my Brk Ghost purchase....tons of time killed on that gun and my TX200😵‍💫. It starts out as fun them becomes homework!

Yes, very easy to go down that rabbit hole! But I am having lots of fun so not complaining. Shooting daily at the moment (25m at home) so the learning curve is both theory and practice. Looking forward to the 2025 contest season!

I have now received my equipment and I can report that the M3 .177 magazines I bought do not actually work on the M4! They do not latch (smaller than the M4 magazines and no latching slot)! You can insert them but they will "auto eject" immediately, simply not usable!

So now I am desperately looking for M4 .177 magazines. Nothing available locally so I converted the M4 back to .22.

This is not ideal as shooting in the benchrest HV class has a 20fpe limit. With the lightest decent pellets available (JSB 13.43gr) you are limited to 818fps, not an ideal speed for best accuracy I think but I will play around and see what I can do.

Magazines are on order from my local dealer but they have to come from Sweden and with the holidays ahead that could take time.

First competition on the 2025 calendar is just over a month away and the clock is ticking......

I really wanted to get the M4 setup for the 25m sub 20fpe class so while waiting for magazines from the factory I decided to do some CAD work and a bit of 3D printing.

The result is an adapter that allows me to use the older M2/3 magazines that I have with my M4! While I was at it I also printed a single shot loader.

So the M4 is now a .177 again! I have now started tuning the rifle and testing different pellets to see what works best for my setup, lots of fun! I have to say I am really falling in love with this rifle, I love equipment that you can setup exactly how you want it and this rifle you can really customize.

You can see my adapters with the magazines fitted, they clip nicely into the M4.
