Others Fx drs tactical

Sitting here while it rains im thinking about the closest air gun i have to the drs which is a 22 daystate revere. So i throw it on my somewhat accurate bow scale and it weighs 10 lbs as set up the drs with the same scope and both wearing silencers weighs 9. A bit of a surprise.
They are light, which is a plus for sure. How much adjustment is there in the hammer spring adjustment? Just curious.

Its different thats for sure. I think it looks pretty cool. I think ill be able to get close to 40 fpe without a lot of trouble and it may do well with slugs so it should be a good squirrel gun.
unfortunately the 500mm barrel will not shoot slugs well and 40fpe will also be hard to attain...don't bother with slugs with that barrel

my 600mm is a tack driver with JSB 18 grain pellets and shoots them at 900fps [32fpe] with reg set at 100 bar

If you watch matts vid on the drs tactical he shoots 26 gr javelins very well from the 500. If you look at my sight in targets the 217 & 218 are slugs too and i haven't tried to actually tune for them.
Im shooting @ 140 bar and the aea 21.9 @ 42 fpe are shooting very well and im getting 2 full mags now that things are getting broken in.

That's good information. I appreciate that. I have a 22cal 60mm right now. They are such good and simple airguns.

I did watch his video and tried the Javelins as well as another 10 types of slugs…no joy

With JSB Heavies 18.13gr and JTS dead centre 18 gr pellets it’s a lazer

I have some 23 gr slugs i might try. The 21 gr h&n kind of put me off with the bc which is advertised @ .091 i got under .04 nearly the same as the aea and the aea shot easily. For a hunting gun (in pa you have to use 177-22 to hunt) i think it will do very well. At this power i can go from 22-45 yds off ctr crosshair and hold over to 55 or 60 easily. In the pic the target is at 50

I converted my DRS Classic into a tactical format with Buck Rail's BR modular chassis. I have the 700mm SHP in .22 and I mostly shoot 33g H&N precision slugs at 934 FPS. The are ragged hole at 30 yards (my zero distance) and are covered by a dime at 50 yards and under 1 MOA at 100 yards (depending on wind). I have my pressure set to 148-150 bar (as best as I can read the gauge). I have a Huma Mod40 on it and it is about my quietest .22 especially for the speed. But it is really long and tuff to woods walk with it. So I use it on a tripod when I go and "sit and hunt". The AR kit shaved weight off an already light gun.

I also have shot 21g GQA .217 LDC cup based and 22g AVS .218 dish base both at around 1040fps. Not as accurate as the H&Ns for target work but great for hunting.

Thanks good info to add!
If you want a gauge you can read well utah airguns has a 23 mm huma gauge thats marked to 10 bar and goes to 300 i have 1 for plenum and tank pressure. IMG_0739.webp

Ya im not too worried as the pellets are doing pretty good @100 even in wind.
Good deal I just saw you were talking about the other slugs with tiny HPs being ice picks which they are ive tried all the lighter weight slugs from NSA and H&N and others and never had great success hunting where the HPs did much of anything. The KOs are brutal for hunting and now all ill use out of my Vet Long for hunting. I need to post some pics of the damage they do.

Also ive tested BCs of the JTS 22.07gr and JSB 20.83gr monster lights and got in the .038 range on both so nothing crazy over the 18gr JTS which are .033gr. So similar to what you saw. The slugs being that low is crazy though and makes me think they must have had some tumbling or spiraling that was slight.

I was really surprised at the slug bc especially since the tin says .091. Do you know the bc of the 20.83?
