Panthera FX Bull barrel for Panthera

Last edited:
It figures FX showed up at RMAC with a copper Panthers MK2 with BULL BARREL . But not for the public. And it is a raffle prize. Limited edition with only a 150 for sale. Not very good business, relations to myself & others who pre-ordered . March 26 2026. Total embarasment, my opinion & thoughts, I actually was correct on my previous post on June 6. Like I say TRUTH BE TOLD

I couldn’t agree more. The Bull barrel marketing is a crock. At this point I’m not sure any other FX rifles will make my wishlist. 😔

Im am glad to see you replied
, I was patiently waiting for you to reply. On a nother note did you resolve your .30 Panthers.
I’m not sure yet. FX USA asked me to return it several times. Finally I did. They told me it would be about 3 weeks to resolve. They received it May 27th. A few weeks ago they told me that it was about to be worked on and would update me at the end of the week. They didn’t respond to my emails until yesterday, to tell me it has been shipped back to me. But, I haven’t seen a tracking number yet.

Keep me informed on how you make out. I am going to wait hopefully 2nd week in July for the SOLID BULL BAREL for the 700 ,22 PANTHERA a hope FX pulls through. This is the format I orinally ordered it. If I'm not impressed I will just upload it. I will certainly find out all the hype about this air rifle.

Not bad for a guy that had a retina detachment and macular degeneration on my detail vision in my dominant eye. The dot keeps shifting on me when moving my head. At 55 yards not letting me post my he photos

I received it back from FX USA today. They said they didn’t see anything that would cause the large velocity swings. But, they replaced an o-ring that might cause the issue. They said it was dirty and there was soap residue and excess lubricant near the barrel support. They included a bag with the suspected bad o-ring and some dirty/greasy swabs in it. Kind if weird because they actually replaced two different size o-rings. I haven’t lubed it (appears to be moly on the swabs). They said they tested it and managed an SD of around 3. They also said the regulator was under tuned. Well, yeah I had replaced the AMP Reg with a HUMA reg and then put the AMP back in the rifle prior to sending it to them. I set the reg to minimum ready for tuning. They tuned it to 140 BAR and 3.2 on the Micro. No info on what they tested it with or how many shots. None of this is a complaint, I’m just sharing the facts.

I shot a bunch of different weight slugs that I swaged and resized. This was two of the better groups. But, it did well considering the wind was a crosswind at 10mph gusting to 15mph. I had one 3 shot group that had an sd of 1.3 and several between 2 and 3. There were some wild ones too. The Chrono data is for the 6 shot group.
I’m not sure I’d ever send an airgun back for warranty work, unless it was something catastrophic- just too long of a process. This is with the stock rifle and 1:16 700mm barrel. I finalky feel like the Corbin press is a worthwhile investment- after adding $200plus in resizing equipment and an FX slug gun 😂🤣😂

Do you have a slug barrel or a pellet barrel? Most 700mm Panthers are shipped with slug barrels. I have mine turned for the griffin 78 at 930 to shoot at 150 bar but can push it to 200 bar plus for the 108-135 grainers for bigger game. Not many shots even with the 315 bar fill. So I like the staying to the 78s for mor shots on the mark1- 800mm barrel the 25 will be changed to the 30 700 pellet slinger for competition.

I have both barrels. I removed the pellet liner and put the slug liner back in prior to sending it to FX USA. I’m only filling to 250 bar and so the shot count is really low even at 140 bar.

Those groups look very good. I'd shoot three to five shots per single click on the micro until the sd went down to one. If the Amp won't do it, the Huma will. Still, might want to leave it alone for a while and just shoot it. considering those groups are in the wind too.

I like your report on their report of what they found in the gun that they originally put in there. Too funny! I'm surprised they didn't complain about all the loctite on everything too, lol. I do hate shipping guns also, or have someone else work on them. I have seen service centers videos for FX and when those guys break out the power tools to do screws I seriously cringe.

I just had a 10 minute session. It’s 90f and 70% humidity and so it’s brutal for an old geezer like me. It’s shooting real nice. The SD is lower than when I had it and so something has changed. It’s still not as good as the Sonoran. I will tune the Micro soon. I don’t want to change anything other than the Macro right now, until I see how it does.
They were very polite until they didn’t work on it when they said they would and then they ghosted me. But, they did something that had an effect on the SD. The really funny part is, I don’t have any moly that I would use on an airgun. The only Moly that I have is in a grease gun for my CNC router. I didn’t do any leak checks as when I listed that it was leaking, you suggested that it was expansion from filling from a bottle and you were right. If anyone looks at my posts, I actually stated that I removed some of the grease from the Belleville washers. I would like to put the Huma back in, but I’ll give it a week or so as is. I’ll wait on switching back to the pellet liner as well, I’m having too much fun swaging and shooting slugs. I might decrease the slug weight slightly so that I can get a few more shots.
