Hi there, brand new to the site, fairly new to air gunning and I have a question. I’ve zeroed hunting scopes where you have to remove the windage/elevation covers and make corrections with a coin (or similar thing) but I just got a UTG bug buster 3-12x32 with the fancy, high speed turrets for windage and elevation. My question is: is there a cover I remove to adjust the reticle to get it zeroed or do I use the turrets? To me it seems like that would mess you up when you actually have to use it to adjust for elevation or windage but I’m totally ignorant of the MOA scopes. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you

Hello Johnny, welcome to the HAM Community!

The UTG Bugbusters do not have a cover on the turrets. You can rotate them directly. However most - maybe all - Bugbusters have a locking ring around the base of each turret - it's the one with the big serrations. You need to loosen these by rotating anti-clockwise a little. Then you will be able to rotate the turrets themselves and make adjustments to the elevation or windage.

UTG calls these turrets their "Lockable/Resettable" type. Page 18 of the instruction manual that came with your scope describes what to do.

finger is on the ring hameditor is talking about
just above it is one of the allen head grubs you can loosen to jet everthing to zero.
p.s. you might have to take that top grub out and lift the turret if i recall or just loosen it. not a 100% sure. i think just loosen it and the small ones one the side.

That does help, thank you. I was just curious if there was a “hidden” adjustment under the turret. Never had a scope like this and I’m excited to set it up. Weekend can’t get here fast enough

i have one on a pump gun and love it enough if i scoped another pumper i would get another bug buster.

I have a gamo whisper cat that came with a fixed magnification scope and it’s fine but 3-12 is finer

Just found my 3x9x32 BugBuster, had lost it during a recent move. Will try it on my Supercharger but wanted to thank you guys for info on it. I downloaded a pdf user manual thanks to you guys.

I guess you could re center the retical using like the mirror method..

You could go in and try to adjust or fix a retical , but it's not a faint hearted task and probly do more harm then good . That's more s send it in for warranty or factory repair thing .. not to say you can't but...lol.
