DIY PCP Hammer Spring Tuning

My pinty buster has a picatinny adapter that prevents the hammer spring tensioner from backing out as much as I'd like, so instead of removing 3d printed material to accomodate it I thought to experiment with lighter springs. Compressionspring.com let's you search their inventory by total spring OD, free length, and wire diameter, and material type.

I have everything except material type. They offer music wire, stainless steel, carbon steel, oil tempered, etc. From what I read most small springs are music wire, so should I go with that?

Is the hammer spring very easy to remove? I'm waiting on one.

Thank you for the info. I've been trying to find a replacement HS for my Sumatra for years. No, I haven't been trying that hard. I want to see if can tune it to be more efficient.
