Spring/Piston Diana 350 Magnum - Best Scope

He got the entire kit from Vortek (PG4) last winter so it's probably got 3 tins of pellets/slugs through it? They definitely 'settle in' and are weaker then when brand new...I know that when they bought them they would send 7.9gr crosman pellets (only ones I had at the time) supersonic, now they will not. He kept all his stock internals to swap back if needed but he wasn't happy with the harshness and the death of his last scope so that's why he bought the kit. Didn't really gain or lose any FPS to be honest. The kit came with some spacers...overtime if it gets weaker you add em to beef it back up. As you go up with the grain weight Fps drops but Fpe climbs, but only to a certain point...I wanted to chrony the 15gr Wildman slugs we have but alas it was cloudy yesterday and the prochrono is a fair weather unit😞 For what it is accuracy is very good right now! 30Y groups here, his was bottom and left side bulls, mine with TX was top and right bulls. TX always wins on paper but he usually wins plinking or pesting sessions!🤔

Well, at least you didn't cut the coils on the spring. People get crazy with mods at times and there's an aftermarket that depends on them. I find stock items, guns, cars, electronics, usually work well enough without modifications. I've seen mods actually degrade performance. Airgunners wiser than me have warned me not to go down that rabbit hole. I have fun just finding the right setup for guns, searching for scopes, mounts and which pellets work the best with that particular gun. I still haven't decided which scope to mount on the 350, but enjoying the journey!

Nothing wrong with cutting a coil off a spring to get a desired result.
Stock too strong but uk too soft so you trim the strong stock spring down .. I try to tune to a one consistent pellet and for me it's cphp's 😉. Beats the heck out of inconvenience of finding and ordering fancy expensive mail order pellets ..

I shoot to my convenience not the guns ..😉

That's lovely my dude. I like buying expensive pellets and stuff for my hobby needs. CPHPs work in almost anything, ironically they couldn't hold a tight group with my 362 100th Anniversary. RWS Meisterkugeln 14gr Wadcutters were laser accurate. Go figure?

Went down that path with my Slavia 630, lol I exhaustively searched for the UK/US spec spring and found it (so I thought) wrote the specs down, pulled the gun apart and made sure it would fit. Sent the specs off to Vortek and they made the spring. The twang is gone now but I only gained 50fps and she kicks like a beast!? As per my research I was hoping to get about 150fps more so maybe 650-700fps with light pellets. Shot probably 200 pellets through it and all of a sudden 2 days ago trigger got gritty!? Now I gotta pull it apart again and see what is up, would only chop spring if absolutely necessary...the gain has not been worth the pain so far. Good ol Canadian market...to make it legal for sale here they just threw a tiny too narrow anemic spring and called it good to get it down to 500fps.

Do you live in Canada?

I just received the 20gr slugs! The USPS did me dirty and dented the tin though.

Yeah good ol Canada...we get the nasty US/Cdn exchange rate, border hassles, and no free shipping on anything from the states no matter how much you spend on an order🥴 But it's a fun hobby and well worth it...as I preach to the choir lol. Are they labeled for diameter as well? I recall the 10.03 gr slugs where the narrowest we could find 4.50 or 4.51 Dia I think. Let us know how they do👍

Did you have to get a PAL in order to shoot some of your guns?

I need to measure the diameter.

Sorry to hear you live in Canada. Are you required to have a PAL in order to own and shoot some of your airguns?

The slugs measure out at .177/.178 at the skirts, .176-ish towards the front. They shot fine, did not get stuck in the barrel.

Canada's not bad it's just the people in charge😜🙄 Our dude tried a filthy gun grab, didn't work thankfully! Yes to the Pal, got that and went hog wild on air guns...got my S510, TX, and lastly the Ghost. Our rules are no PAL to shoot under 500fps. The UK can shoot in the 700fps in .177 easily for their sub12 numbers BUT it's much easier to get a gun license here, so there is that. Eventually want to grab a lever action in .357 or .44mag...soft spot for those guns, esp the new Marlins...but I digress😅 As Hateful said do let us know on speed and drop! If it's over 500fps I will be blown away! I will get back with the 15gr slug specs we have here...on my Airgun to-do list.

It didn't get stuck in the barrel, as I said it wouldn't, and it hits like a runaway truck fleeing communist Canada. 🤣 I gave you two slug diameters and showed you target accuracy. Now you want chrony speed and bullet drop? Lol, anything else? Oh, maybe fly you out to California to film and document it, and fly Nasty out to supervise the cutting of the coils?

If you could? For science? 😂 Accuracy is good but without speed and distance(Fpe)...for hunting

I re-read all my posts on this thread, I never said it WILL get stuck in the barrel I said it might. Second I said that out of concern, not to 'prove' anything. Your group looks great but you failed to mention distance, and without fps, you wouldn't know fpe, which is of course important for hunting/pesting. Are you shooting it with the open sights still? Drop compensation would be crazy shooting it long range I'd think.
