Anyone consider a power alternative for their shoebox or other compressor that can run off 12 volts. I use the Makita 18v platform for everything in my household, from power tools, lawn and garden tools, vacuums, lights etc. Anyone use this platform to power their 12 volt compressors? Something like this?

Exactly like that, but using my existing equipment.
Awl,

Did you wire in the battery adapter? Is it one of the simple 2 wire adapters you might find on Amazon, etc.?

I use 18v Makita cordless tools for work and the batteries are top tier, if expensive. I've used the adapters in the past running off Rigid 18V. My work truck is a service body truck- the tool box on wheels- and the boxes and bed are wired with lights off of an 18v battery.

We run a lot of Rigid and Milwaukee 18V company tools, and the Rigid batteries are great quality and less than half the price. 2-packs of 4 amp batteries go on sale at Xmas for $99. We go through a lot of cordless circular saws and I can usually find the Rigid saws for $250 +/- and they frequently throw in a free 8 amp battery. You can run a saw all day on one 8 amp.

How many fills do you get from a single charge?

The last time I went to the Range I just used a 12v 30 hr lifpo4 trolling motor battery.
I put T60 plugs on it to match the compressor. I have it upstairs. Just a second. Then I have a tap off the solar panels controller I just plug it in when I'm at home to charge it up.
It's always charged, we have used it a few times when the power went out.
With a 200 watt inverter we can hook up the TV, modem and TV receiver for a few hours.
And it all weighs less than 7 pounds.
Battery is usually at 14.4 but it's been raining a few days.

And my research tells me this is the BEST OPTION. 20Ah LiFePO4 and a cheap, battery specific charger. YOu can get all for under 70 bucks. Thanks Jaabaa!
