Chinese OEM Airgun Manufacturers At IWA OutdoorClassics 2026

Chinese OEM Manufacturers At IWA OutdoorClassics 2026

Chinese OEM airgun manufacturers are a huge and important part of the overall airgun industry. So let’s take a look at some of them and see what they had to offer at IWA OutdoorClassics 2026.

Some of these products are already familiar to us and we’re shooting them today. Others are ones that we will likely be owning in the near future…

The business model for OEM manufacturers (in any industry) is to work as a design, development and manufacturing facility for the companies that actually sell the products we buy. The “selling companies” provide the brand, distribution, warranty and spare parts support in countries around the world.

This combination of OEM manufacturers and – usually Western – selling companies working as a team is synergistic and widely popular. We all see the results everywhere we shop.

Probably the most well-known OEM airgun manufacturer is Snowpeak Airguns. The company has been in existence since 1976 – 50 years – so they know what they are doing and are successful at it.

Remarkably, Snowpeak had no new products to show this year. Their Sales Manager told me that they’re too busy building the ones they have already!

But I do not remember seeing this twin HPA tube version of the Max 1 model that was prominently displayed below. So maybe that’s a sneak new introduction…

Among Snowpeak’s recent models is the AP900/AP1000-series. You’ll recognize the resemblance to the Air Venturi Alpha that provided spectacular performance in our recent HAM test review.

And there’s more. Many more…

One of the more recent Chinese OEM airgun manufacturers is Nova Vista. This company has come from nowhere in the past 10 years and now has a major portfolio of innovative products.

Nova Vista is well-known for its partnership with Air Venturi. They build the Avenger range of products. Plus many more, as we can see here.

One new introduction is the Hyena bullpup (below). I believe that we can expect to see this gun in the USA in the near future from a selling company. It has two adjustable regulators, a “match grade” trigger and was attracting a lot of attention at the show.

A very innovative new introduction from Nova Vista is the TMS, three-in-one modular system. This comprises a base receiver unit, to which can be added a range of buttstocks, pistol grips, HPA tubes and barrels.

This means that the TMS can be configured as a pistol, carbine or rifle.

By taking a close-up of the product, we can see that all – yes all – the parts come together in one box. This is a really innovative approach to product design and it looks good too!

The TMS will be available in .177, .22 and .25 caliber. Maximum power spec is 46 Ft/Lbs with the long barrel in .25 caliber. I expect to see it in the US market later in 2026.

One of many outstanding reasons to visit IWA is to discover new manufacturers that you have never heard-of before. So here we have a new, start-up Chinese OEM airgun manufacturer going by the name of Cosmox.

The company has its roots back in 1959 as Zhongzhou Machinery Co. Like many other businesses, it has become a public company in recent years and now is concentrating on PCPs.

Cosmox has a range of PCP air rifle designs that they were showing. I’m not sure (yet) about pricing or links with selling companies, but Cosmox has an address in the USA, so they’re obviously serious about expansion.

Before we leave Chinese OEM manufacturers, it’s time to look at two companies that dominate the HPA compressor market. One is New Warrior Compressors. You will instantly recognize several of their products.

The other main OEM HPA compressor manufacturer is Nantong Guangxing Pneumatic Equipment Co, Ltd. (GX Pumps). Again, they have a wide range of models that will be familiar to airgun enthusiasts.

For example, there’s one model powered by re-chargeable batteries and another showing the company’s moisture-trap filter system.

The max 1 is very well balanced in my hands, I have a hawke 4-12 airmax and nothing else...it seems adding an extra air tank up front is going to change the weight distribution. Wonder what the weight change is as well, along with the not so natural feel of two side by side tanks...makes it not that ideal in my eyes.

My biggest problem with the Chinese airguns is the lack of or hard to find parts. That's 1 of the reasons I like FX. I can get every part to fix my impact. I spent a lot of time just trying to find a pressure gauge to fit my Nova Liberty. I could find all kinds of 1/8 npt and bssp gauges but had to go to Wes at air archery fun in Canada to get on with a 8mm thread. It's like they think airguns are throw away items after there's any problem. I know PA is doing their part to support the avenger line but I'm sure it's still limited to what is available.

I didn't know he had 8mm thread, I ordered from China thru eBay.

Pyramyd has recently expanded to a rather extensive list of repair parts available for the AV guns.
