lol, don’t get a bore scope, it’s just another rabbit hole.Well, you seemed to do a very nice job of cleaning it. But seriously, yeah the marks should not be on the lands, but the barrel could still shoot well, pellets anyway. Still, I'd be mad, this is a very mature, old process. There is no reason to be getting something as simple as this wrong, at this point in time.
It's funny you say that, because about a month ago I saw a borescope video of somebody's 250z, and the damned thing looked beautiful. How does your Sonoran's bore look? I'd be curious to see that.lol, don’t get a bore scope, it’s just another rabbit hole.
Well, you just saw it. It’s amazing what $600 will or won’t get you. Those marks on the lands are throughout the barrel. I’ve been pondering all afternoon on whether they are detrimental or not and if so how much. I wasn’t going to state right away that it was the Sub-MOA barrel. I wish I had taken a snap of the 250z barrel, it was horrible. But it didn’t have grooves across the lands. I did lightly polish the Sonoran, but it looked well lapped - to the naked eye anyway lol. But, assuming it was nicely lapped, these grooves must’ve been reasonably deep. It's funny you say that, because about a month ago I saw a borescope video of somebody's 250z, and the damned thing looked beautiful. I’d love to hear what an expert thinks. In fact everyone feel free to comment.I'm waiting for @BenjeneerJohn to weigh-in on this...
I would suggest you get the flexable 1 i like mine and it packs up nicelyWell that settles it Bill, I am getting a borescope this weekend, and looking at my Paradigm barrel because to my naked eye it looks like glass. I know how it shoots, so if it looks like yours, than I know those marks mean nothing. I'll let you know.
BillM - I appreciate that you and Stephen think I am a professional but barrels can be black magic.
What is the accuracy at 30, 50 and 100 yards? At what distance do you plan on shooting it? Are those marks really a problem?
If you put 100-200 rounds through it do they lead up and sheet tighten up?
I will say, I don't like the looks of them. It is hard to tell how deep they are from the picture. In general, any defect that is perpendicular to the bore tends to be bad. It will shave off a bit of lead and cause the Pellet to spiral. It may also clip your moderator.
This is where distance matters. If you see accuracy issues, it will not be till after 30 yards. I bet it runs great at 30 yards and open up between 40 and 50+ yards.
Have you reached out to Sub MOA about it? It would be good to get their opinion.

Bill i would suggest you run slugs through it till it starts throwing flyers then have a look inside and see if those scratches are collecting lead. At least that will let you know what is going on and how you may want to proceed. The rifle can be extremely accurate with pellets out to 75yd. I’ve shot sub-MOA at 115yds with it. That’s the furthest that I can really shoot in my backyard range. I’ve had some 1-2” groups with slugs at 100yds. But it becomes inconsistent really quickly. I was tuning the hammer spring yesterday and it was throwing flyers with slugs. It clipped the moderator. I inspected the barrel because I feel that the barrel causes slugs to wobble and causing the clipping. But, I have no way to confirm this. I haven’t reached out to anyone as I wasn’t convinced that it is an issue. The marks appear to be spiral, so I’m assuming that they’re possibly from the lapping. This may not be an issue. Thanks for your input.
I think that’s a great idea and will try that.Bill i would suggest you run slugs through it till it starts throwing flyers then have a look inside and see if those scratches are collecting lead. At least that will let you know what is going on and how you may want to proceed.
Im not surprised by the bottle because this was cooked up by aoa to sell old inventory. They took guns that have been sitting for years put new barrels on them and turned the power up a bit so they would catch the eye of buyersI will probably shoot an email to AOA and ask them what they think. The rifle is 4.5 months old and was $2200 out the door. It was shipped with an old air bottle that was due for its first inspection two days after I received the rifle, the fill gauge is off by 80 bar making it useless. I’m willing to deal with all of that if it makes for a great rifle. I am concerned somewhat about the marks in the barrel.

lol, I created a thread on here stating that same thing a month or two ago. The whole way the sale occurred was weird lol. I had asked some questions about it via email. Out of the blue they called me while I was driving and asked me if I was ready to make the purchase. I wasn’t expecting that. I told them that I had a Red Panda in my cart with another dealer (I did) and hadn’t decided on which rifle I wanted to purchase. After some promises were made, I agreed to make the purchase and asked them to call me back in five minutes, as I needed to get a credit card out. Less than two minutes later they called me back lol.Im not surprised by the bottle because this was cooked up by aoa to sell old inventory.
