250Z Best moderator

After a good bit of shooting this weekend, I can definitely say the Sumo is much quieter than the Airgun Capitol. Both of them are 25/30's on a 25 gun.

I may try a Buck Rail in the future as they seem very affordable.

I use a Donny on mine and I suggest you go at least one caliber over to avoid clipping.
I tried one over, and its louder than the exact caliber. Youre 100% right about the clipping issue, but I've noticed in particular, I clip, when im removing and reinstalling. Ive taken a habit of using a paint pen(yes, i know, sooooo beautiful) to mark where I need to keep my mod when I thread it on. Since I started doing this, no more clipping.

Heartland my friend. I can't emphasize it enough, if you need the slightly lower tone, and exceptional reduction.

I got an email today from Julie with Buckrail and they are sending me out a new moderator under warranty for the one that failed. They are really a great outfit, and their moderators do a very good job of toning down my airguns. I have 3 of them. One screw on and two slip on, all of them are modular.

I've got my two new barrels polished and installed, Just haven't had many opportunities to shoot. The weather will be getting warmer soon and the time change is less than a month away. So, I should be putting them through the paces soon and updating my thread. Both guns have plenums, one is ported the other isn't, yet... ;)
Bladefin, how do I go about getting a new barrel for the 250Z rifle? Mine is registered and under warranty.

Gentlemen, what are your thoughts for a moderator for the 250Z? I've just pulled the trigger and ordered the rifle straight from Barra. I know there are a wide variety that will work but I am trying not to break the bank.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

P.S. It is the .22 cal.
I have the donnyFL yokozuna on mine. Very quiet and shooting same hole at 50 yards at 925fps

Well i pulled the trigger so to speak and went cheap and bought a buckrail moderator....with a bit of dissatisfaction from my wife due to me spending more money 😂. Must cheaper than the others out there, but i can say without a doubt, it's the best $75 I've spent in a while. The 250z defenitely has a snap without the moderator.....i wish i had a meter to see what the decibel level was, but OMG what a difference it is with the buckrail. Thats no exaggeration.

I've got one for backup, you made a good choice

I put a DonnyFL Sumo as per their suggestion and it has worked wonders. It’s currently backyard friendly, whereas w/o a silencer it was not so friendly to my neighbors. I live in a rural area and can shoot most anything up to but not including .22 mag. My 250z naked did draw a few questions as to what was I “shooting now”?!…currently with the sumo the only thing my neighbors hear is the “thwack” of the target being struck. My 250z is tuned for ZAN ELR slugs, I only get 24 good regulated shots as those slugs are 35.5 grains, but at 100 yards I can print a group that is sub-MOA consistently.

That’s outstanding.. the 250z is such an amazing gun.

I never replied back about the Sumo I put on one of mine. I am quite impressed. It is very quiet and noticeably better than the Airgun Capitol.

Both guns are shooting a roughly 33gr slug JSB K/O mkii vs Zan. And both at 2450 to 2500psi. I'm getting half inch groups with the JSB at 50 and 3/4 to 1" with the Zan. Once I use up all the Zan I will tune the other to JSB.
