Best beginner multiuse pcp air rifle

I really like my Reximex Daystar and would recommend it to anyone, at any level of airgun experience. Mine is in .22 but the rifle makes enough power that it would drive .25s with plenty of authority as well.

Only issue with the Turk & China rifles is that the barrels are a bit of a 'crap shoot'. If you get a good barrel the rifles can be as accurate as any rifle (like mine), at any price! But unfortunately, sometimes you get a barrel that is just unbelievably bad!

Great to see I'm not alone here on the Daystar! Mine is in .25, and it is an absolute laser And paid less for it brand new, than what I seen Pinty is
price gouging now for the Striker and the Nightfall.
Sounds to me like Tgself1 wants his rifle first for the same reason I did. A tool first, not to simply play with. Paper punching is just a happy secondary use. And, he has a set budget. I second Chief55's suggestion of the AvengeX. Like the man says on Forged in Fire, "It will Kill". And it will punch paper as well as anything else suggested, and many more a lot higher priced. And before anyone gets weepy and wants to complain, the man never said a word about wanting to professionally target shoot.

I'd like to ask just how much experience you have shooting air powered rifles? Hunting with these takes a whole other skill set from the typical powder burners. I might suggest that you go and shoot with a friend and gain from his viewpoint. Shooting at your local club would give you experience with varied airguns. Before you go and dump four or five hundred dollars into a pcp airgun, talley up the other substantial costs such as optics and air supply. A bicycle pump grows old very fast. Before you hardly get yourself out the starting gate you're most surely going to have a $1000 invested. . . that's OK we've all been there. I think that most of the HAMsters on this Forum are just trying to help you get where your going with your eyes wide open. Orv

I forgot to mention that pcp's require far more maintenance/repairs than your typical powder burner. I'm not being negative, I just want you to be aware of what this sport entails. I, like so many of us here on this Forum, bought a simple Sheridan Blue Streak pumper but now, a few decades later, have thousands invested. It used to be motorcycles for me, but my wife thinks that my guns are not only less expensive, but safer as well. Go figure, Orv.
