Hello everyone. I have an AR 2078 CO2 rifle, with the thumbhole stock and the peep sight. The peep sight seems like it is built like a tank. I have been using it on a bunch of different rifles. (I am disappointed with the Air Venturi peep sight. They don't seem to be built as well.) Anyone know where I can get one or two of just the rear peep sights? Perhaps some of you put a scope on your AR2028 and have the peep sight laying around collecting dust in a drawer somewhere? Thanks!

Like you, I have found my AR2078A peep sight to be a good one for use on other airguns too. Hadn’t given it the proper due until you mention it. Made of lightweight plastic or resin it is light enough to withstand the forward kick from a springer so it doesn’t slide off a dovetail and holds zero quite well. People over there may not know how good this peep is.

Mine is neither lightweight nor plastic. It is solid, heavy, steel, and is built like a tank. It came with the AR2078 I bought from Pyramyd just a few years ago. The AR2078's seals gave up just after the return period, but the peep has been on three other airguns since. Is there any way to source a supply of these peep sights? They are way better than the other ones made from stamped metal.

My light weight version came with my AR2078A which currently has a scope. Rifle is still in good shooting condition. I keep it under CO2 pressure which is okay with the 2 cartridge design. Have you tried automatic transmission fluid to resurrect the seals?

No, because the seal around the piercing cap looks like cottage cheese. I have no faith the the rest. So I have decided to use this as a project to learn how to reseal these types of airguns.

Yes, the tube cap seal on many of these guns is very poor. The other seals are usually much better.

We have reseal kits in the Archer Airguns Parts store at QB78 Parts | Tools | Wrenches | Sight Kits | Tubes | Bands | Caps | Archer Airguns

There's some very old videos in the Archer Airguns YouTube channel about repairing QB78-type guns. But they are still applicable and will give you somewhere to start, should you wish to tear into the gun...

Thank you, sir!
