Break Barrel Accidently dried fired Weihrauch HW50S ( I know it was stupid)

I was shooting my HW50S yesterday and decided to add a thin coat of Moly to the locking latch because I had been shooting it a lot lately. Afterwards, I apparently locked the barrel without loading a pellet and fired and knew immediately that something was different. For one thing it was very loud and the target was not hit. So, I cocked it, loaded a pellet, hit the target with normal sound level. I ran about a dozen more rounds throught it without incident.
If anybody else on here has had a simular experence and is willing to talk about it would like to hear from you.

I dry fired Scar Face, my HW95 once because a pellet fell out of the breach.

It was from a new tin of JSB Exact 8.44 and it turned out that many were loose fitting. However that wasn’t the case with the previous two tins.

I’ve been using the H&N Barracuda 8 since, just because Scar Face likes them better.

What can you do? happens .

No harm, no foul. I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like it's operating normally. Why are you concerned, it only happened once?

I dry fired my HW95 after getting distracted while loading the pellet. The report definitely gets your attention and lets you know something is different. Rifle appears no worse for it but, I haven't torn into the internals to inspect. That was about 300-400 pellets ago and today's chrono results are on par with my first data set.

It is working great, shot it today. It was just my inexperience with springers that caused the concern. Also, I really like that little gun and don’t want to mess it up.

It's like winding up to kick a soccer ball and completely missing, once is generally fine, but I wouldn't do it on purpose. The pellet acts as a dampener for the spring. Dry fired my TX just once...a cleaning patch slipped off the rod and I got it out with the dry fire. Didn't want a pellet in there and maybe cause it to clip when exiting. My Slavia I have dry fired countless times, always would after a clean to get the lube out. Have torn it apart a few times with no noticeable damage, but I don't dry fire it anymore of course.
