I bought a 2100 classic back in the early 90's to chase some squirrels out of my attic. Was not trying to kill them, just have them move to another place. The other air rifles I had were way too powerful (TX200 and RWS Model 52, Beeman P1) So I picked up a 2100, figured 1 pump should do it. Well it laid around the garage, got a little paint over spray on it, had never been cleaned or lubed.
I took it apart and cleaned it, got all the paint off of it. Tested to see if it holds air, and oddly after more than 30 years it did. I just shot it through the chrono 6 pumps = 648 FPS with the new Crosman Premier 7.9gr HP. Very amazed as much as it was neglected, it still works and looks pretty close to the day I bought it. For such a cheap gun, it has held up incredibly well for all of the neglect it has seen.
