I've been to a few shows in the last few years, and I've found some interesting stuff. Met some fun people too, and since none of the shows were located close to me, each trip was a little adventure.
I like adventures....
But like everyone, I have to be careful with my money and I leave many fine rifles behind. Gotta leave some for next year, right?
As a consolation, I have been able to find some inexpensive rifles at every show that are little gems in their own right and put a smile on my face.
Here's a list of the rifles that were $100 or less:
Diana 27 - .22
Walther Terrus - .22
Haenel 303 - .177
BSA SuperSport (UK) - .177
RWS 94 - .22
RWS 94 - .177
F.E.G. LG 457 - .22
Diana 24 - .177
Wischo 55N - .177
Weihrauch 35 - .177
Hatsan 125 - .25
With the exception of the HW35, which was sold to me as a just resealed project gun for $75, all are in very good shape. Some are like new.
Airgun nuts will recognize the RWS 94's as Cometa 400's, one of my favorite sporters.
The Terrus didn't have sights (and it's fine without them!) but the Wischo could really use them.
And that's about it. All 11 rifles are legit, good rifles (I haven't shot the Wischo or D24 for groups yet, but they should be fine).
My favorite out of the group?
Truly hard to say since they all all "worthy". Maybe the Diana 27. Maybe that princely little walnut stocked Wischo will prove to be a tack driver.
The RWS's and others already have.
But the Dark Horse of the group is the Hungarian LG - like the Haenel, its pretty "Eastern Eropean" in looks, but she has a great personality! Fun factor is a 10.
So anyway, I encourage everyone to get in their car and have a little adventure by going to a show near (or not so near) you!
