Panthera FX Panthera MKII .30 700mm My First FX

I managed to shoot a 5 shot x 5 group target at 100yds. A couple of flyers and it still managed a 5 group average of 0.98 Sub-MOA. I shot a couple of shots prior at the steel, so that I could adjust the sights. Over 27 shots the extreme spread was 3.9fps with an SD of 0.9. The average velocity was 956.3 fox and the average FPE was 102.5 fpe. This was with random unsorted AEA 50.5gr pellets. The rifle with the Bull Barrel is definitely consistent. The flyers were all me. There was practically no wind. I was using my electric front rest with the silver Protektor bag and my rear mechanical rest. The shooting characteristics have changed with the Bull Barrel and I need to figure it out. I would say that I’m impressed with the Bull Barrel, the FX Panthera MKII, AEA pellets and Newman Buck at Cape Fear Airguns. They did a great job. I’ve given Elaine strict orders to smack me around if she sees me with any tools near the Panthera. composed-export-1788403201017.webp

I said it before that you would be Happy with Newman Buck @ Cape Fear , He is a master tuner when it comes to FX. he is a hidden treasure that puts his all in repairs & tuning. I am so glad you are Happy

I mentioned that last night that I forgot to move the DNT TNC225R to the Panthera until it was dark. I managed to sight the scope in during total darkness using the night vision. I am just really impressed with the Panthera MKII with the 1:40 Bull Barrel. My 5 shot slug group measured less than half MOA at 100yds. The rifle is not tuned for slugs and everything that I’ve read or watched about slugs implies this is not possible with a 1:40 liner. It was shot off of my fist on top of a rear Protektor bag and an ACCUTAC FC4 Gen 2 bipod. Dies the FX have some issues, absolutely, but accuracy isn’t one of them. Coyote ready!composed-export-1792600103800.webp

Proof is in the pudding, You are making myself jealous ! I still don't have my Panthera .22 700 with Bull Barrel yet! I am waiting for it to be assembled. I am closing in on the 7 month timeline. At this point I am looseing interst real fast. I probably should of purchased the MORA in .22. That would hurl out 40 grain slugs no problem what's so ever. I shot both slugs & pellets ou of my .30 cal King no problem. A rifle that I probably should of not sold. Oh well. But then again .22 for myself & my needs suits myself fine. I was going the route of ,22 40 grain slugs @ fasp fps with the capabilites of long range. On another note how fast were u shooting the 52.2 slugs

Around 950fps. It was with 0 wind. I measured it in the morning when it was light. I’ve inky shot one mag today. The SD crept up to 8, each shot decreased in velocity. The gauge indicated I was still 20 bar above the reg pressure, but maybe I need a digital gauge. 110 bar reg setting. Have Newman reroute your .22 to me LOL, it’ll be worth the wait.
