What'cha doing air gun related today?

Between heat and wind just about all i did was set up a card at 10m and adjust the R9's hinge bolt. It was an exciting 10-20 shots . Pretty much moring or afternoon shooting been a bust . So back in the AC sipping tea and trolling forums and gun shopping for a deal that aint there..lol
I just received a tin of Western .22, 21.9 grain pellets and decided to test them against JTS 21.5, AEA 21.9, and JTS 22.07 grain pellets. The first column (left side) was shot on Monday evening at 25 yds, 6 shot groups, (I was pressed for time as the range was about to close) and some right to left breeze. Top left JTS 21.5, next down AEA 21.9, next the Western 21.9, and bottom JTS 22.07.

I was shooting my Daystate Wolverine HP .22 with a polygon barrel. Nothing done to it but a trigger job and a few breech seals, and it is 5 years old.

21.5s 953 fps for a 10 shot average. AEA 21.9 932 fps, (speeds are listed beside the center column bullseyes. I was shooting an old 50ft indoor card.

The center column was shot on Wednesday evening and some left to right breeze, but near perfect conditions.

I was shocked and tickled to death that 10 - AEA 21.9s all went through darn near the same hole. I was shooting off bags and a bench.

I then shot out to 60 meters (the NRA 1/5 scale animal rack)-, and shot my KYL swinging targets down to the half inch swinger.

A very up beat evening at the range.

The Wolverine isn't a very tunable friendly rifle so finding a pellet it likes has been amazing. One would probably like to try the Western 21.9s at 932 fps to see if they would tighten up, but not worth the effort for me. I'll just buy a bunch of AEA 21.9s before the dies wear out and my groups grow in diameter, Ha.
That’s interesting, I was convinced (for no obvious reason) that the Western pellets were coming off the same line as the AEAs.

I got out to shoot a little later than normal this morning. Mostly because I was on here bendin' Billm's ear about making a single shot tray for the Marauder gen 3.

By the time I started shooting the wind was up and rollin'! The wind was switching so quickly I was literally watching my flags/vane with my left eye while aiming with my right eye at the same time! I bet I looked like one of those lizards with eyes that move independently! 😄

I fired 20-shots into one group with every single shot requiring a hold-off around the clock face!

This might not be impressive to the skilled benchrest shooters, but I am pretty proud of the group considering I am just a 'backyard marksman'.

Disassembled the avenge x, degassed and removed regulator. Can't get the pieces apart. The regulator has 2 small pin holes for removal, it won't budge with my tools. Research shows some heat and any type of needle pliers or similar. I don't have my torch at home it's at work. I guess I'll make a tool to get a better hold onto the pin holes and see if I can come up with another torch. Impatient enough to search for a torch from someone but not sooo impatient I'm buying an overpriced home depot torch. It seems they put thread locker on from the factory, per other folks. I just don't see where there a seem and the regulator comes apart. Does the brass spin out....

Try a hair drier first before using a torch.

That's kind of group that puts a smile on your face👍

Is your new compressor working to your expectations?
Yep it's doing what it is suppose to do. I got tired of shooting paper plates and cards so I setup the ground blind put some popcorn out on the ground and waited for the crows to show up. My foxpro is not working I found out today, so I just set there anyway and sure nuff they showed up. One came down for some popcorn I got him and they did their lets go crazy for about 5 min. and then left. So the gen 3 has got it's first crow. Oh and a pretty red fox showed up bout the same time the crows did he had his eye on that popcorn to but he didn't like the looks of my blind. He was about 60 yards out I wasn't going to shoot him if he was 30 yards, I don't have chickens anymore so why shoot him.
