Exactly. Out the gate at full on ELR pricing, while not being ELR capable, -pass. I recently bought some excellent H&N Precision for $12.99 for 150, so $16.99 for 100 is less than appealing to me. Basically double the cost, that's not High Bar, that's high priced.

For that price if these things dont shoot they will just be a blip on the airgun ammo radar. If they do shoot i'd love to see alot more than 100 in a package (kinda laughable TBH, only other 100 in a pack .22 slug is FX hybrids, but they can definitely shoot) but to test if they will work in your pcp, 100 is enough. I still think the lead looks too hard, but I shouldn't judge by just the picture.
Is @hameditor going to test these out at some point for us? Accuracy and expansion plz!

I don’t want to pre-judge their performance but this appears to be a PB ammo company that doesn’t understand how airgun ammo works. There is way too much bearing surface on those slugs. It’s going to take a ton of power to send them fast. We’ll see if anyone takes the plunge.

They look nice BUT, you can get CCI Subsonic Rimfire (100)for only a dollar or so from those same folks!! And High velocity even less. I love CCI stuff , but not that much!

It’s easy for us to believe that these products sell in huge quantities because we buy lots of them. In reality the market for PCP airguns in the U.S. is minuscule at best. The demand for slugs is almost nonexistent in business terms. Comparing the cost of airgun slugs to the the .22LR, the most prolific caliber in the world isn’t a fair comparison. I don’t have a .22 heavy slug capable rifle or I’d buy two or three boxes to try them. It would be a shame if they are a solid performer and left the market because no one tried them. If they are a market success, CCI might put their vast business might and ballistics knowledge to produce even better slugs. I have no need for slugs in reality, but I love shooting and so I have some Hex slugs arriving Friday. I tried the Halos and would love to try the Altaros.

Food for thought: “Out of roughly 8 billion total annual ammunition rounds sold in the U.S., about 1.5 billion to 2.5 billion are rimfire .22 LR.”

To put that in perspective: it is estimated that approximately 120 million pellets and BBs were distributed WORLDWIDE in 2023.

We (H&N) alone manufacture over a billion pellets and slugs annually. I would estimate total global production of pellets (excluding BBs) at around 15 to 20 billion.
It is worth bearing in mind that in many countries outside the US, the air rifle is the type of gun that can be easily purchased without a permit.

Thanks for the information. There’s no telling how accurate the information that I was provided is, but was only U.S. numbers. I grew up shooting H&N pellets and I really appreciate that you have an active and constructive presence on the HAM forums. The U.S. dealers need to stock more of your products. I’ve been trying to purchase some of your .30 slugs to try and they’re out of stock LOL. Your slugs are building a great reputation by some of the shooters here on HAM.
