Bulldog Cutting a .357 Benjamin Bulldog Shroud

I have not measured the distance from the end of the barrel support that covers the Bulldog crown within the shroud from the end of the shroud, but I’d like to know what this space is for. I suspect it’s about 1” - 2” give or take.

Would it take away from the shroud’s function to cut about an inch off of the shroud? I’ve seen Pitbull Airgun’s carbine design and I don’t know how much room is between the crown and the end of the shroud in that configuration, but I’m thinking they may have eliminated that space. What are the pros and cons?

Well, less shroud volume, less sound reduction, that's for sure.

From the end of the shroud to the end of the barrel spacer is 1.9". Changing that distance will make it slightly louder but that is about it.

@Ironman I’m referring to a .357 Bulldog. It has a shorter reservoir than the longer one on a Bulldog M357.

You are right, ooops. How important is sound to you? If it make no difference then you should be able to do this easily.
