I’m curios to know what pest requires a .30 and 100 yard off hand shooting? This sounds interesting.

I have a coyote/coon issue at times here. So much so that I fenced my backyard 3 acres to protect my dogs. Front yard is open and that's were I have the issue with pests. I've hit coons with my JTS 25 cal. Even with good shot placement it may take 2 hits. Always at 50 yds. It's never sit on a rest. Always see them,grab my rifle, steady and off hand shoot. I need reach out with more punch without hitting my neighbor. I have a narrow, safe lane to shoot. And has to be a pellet/ slugs gun. What draws them to me are my berry bushes/trees.

I have a Taipan .25, it has no problem dropping a raccoon. Solo1 has his for sale here, might be worth a look.

If you have a window you can shoot through from off a steady bench or table I would make use of that. I killed many coons from our backyard some decades past with a 30fpe .22 with first shot kills at about 30yds.

I don't consider baiting as 'hunting', or really very sporting when shooting from a hide..., but, it is a very effective way to dispatch critters that need controlled! You could setup bait and get them coming. If you can sit and wait in the evening, after dark, from a hide and use a porch light for illumination you will kill a ton of those coons and likely a coyote of two.

Let's talk about shooting in the wind folks. Please, offer any advice you wish to share based on what you have learned from your own shooting experience in the wind.

This morning we had strong wind blowing from before sunrise. I used the conditions to practice wind holds on target. Today is one day that I wish I made videos so I could have shown how active my wind flags/vane were!!! Numerous times, my wind vane spun around a full 360-degrees in a second! ALL shots required a 'wind correction' to even be close to hitting the desired target spot!

I'll share one bit of shooting-in-the-wind advice. Use a minimum of two wind flags/vanes on your target range. When watching the flags/vanes to gauge your hold correction, DO NOT take the shot until the wind indicators match! In other words, if one flag is blowing one direction and the other flag is blowing a different direction..., don't take the shot!

This target was from this morning in STRONG, switching wind! 250z .22, 20-shots, 50yds and every single shot required a wind hold correction!

I put my new hammer weight into the TalonSS and my small high flow tank from the Escape turning it into an EscapeSS with the .20 barrel. I was shooting 25 grain Zan slugs and 13 grain JSB pellets. It loves the 13 grain pellets. Put the Talon standard flow tank on the Escape with the 24-inch .22 barrel but not enough time to see what it would do.

Pulled the regulator from the avenge x last night, talked to Mark from Pyramyd Air and ordered a rebuild kit. He couldn't say if the regular rebuild kit included the regulator o-rings so I ordered both. Hopefully the Nova liberty rebuild kit from captn o-ring has them. The regulator on the Avenge x is interesting, i didn't tear it apart. I just installed it back with the pressure as low as possible to see if it will keep on creeping or not. Installed the optisian 5-20 on my max 1 and bore sighted it as well.

Another thought, I couldn't find much info but I'm curious if anyone has tried the Huma air regulator on the avenge x, Mark from Pyramyd tried to sell one for 80$(a air venturi regulator I believe) if I have to buy a regulator I'd rather try huma version since this appears to be an issue with this rifle. Any thoughts would be accepted! Everyone have a blessed day!

Rain day(half day at work) waiting on O-ring kits and since I finally got some free time I installed a .7L bottle on my SK-19 and gave the .48L bottle to the Notos. I was "gifted" this Ol Superwell bottle valve so it appeared I had everything needed. A gauge blew when I filled it so I found a bolt at the hardware store. The plenum has a gauge anyways so the blown one was redundant. Chrono showed Norma heavy 17.6 shot 880-890. Barracuda match 21.14 shot 790-800. The regulator set at 2050-2100 psi.
I have no clue how to adjust this regulator but it's at a good spot I suppose until I look into it. I see a very small allen key on the shiny aluminum cylinder but that is it.

My Goodness this fx barrel is Loud! My smaller moderators only tone down the bark.

I have a 30 cal Tipan from Talon air that I'm still waiting on. Going to give that a try. Hoping I wont have issues with it. As some have. I would of given Solo 1's Tipan a look had I'd known. Thanks for the help

Ya my bait these days is my bird feeders. All are welcome to it. As long as they don't destroy it. Some squirrels and all raccoons have no manners when sitting down to eat. And like to destroy. That's when I use animal management Thanks for the suggestions

I leave a gun locked into the death grip pointed out the window. I just shoot through the screen, not a metal screen but solar screen, from inside the house on the couch. Screen cost a few pennies to replace and I’ve never had it effect a shot, neighbors hear nothing, you are completely hid from anything or anybody.

I made a micro windage adjustment rest for my Cadwell Stinger gun rest. I used a nice block of hardwood, a micro vice from amazon (nine bucks) and a custom slide platform i designed on my affinity software. I made it out of 1/4" plywood for the top piece, and 3mm ply for the base/bottom. Cut with Xtool laser. I have high hopes for this at the range.

I also installed new hardwood grips on my 1701P, and a williams Crosman blade rear sight. Love me some open sights. This is one straight shooting pistol; my new favorite.

The tune I have run on my 250z .22 since I got the air rifle some months back has been shooting AEA 21.9gr pellets at 950-955fps. While it's been very accurate, it did have a nagging issue with an occasional 'flier'. By 'flier' I mean a shot that falls enough out the group that it's mostly unexplainable.

During the last week or so, I have been experimenting with minor regulator and hammer spring changes in hopes of improving the 'flier' issue. During the course of those changes it was quickly obvious that increasing velocity was not the answer. Moving the opposite direction to a lesser velocity has shown to improve, if not eliminate the 'flier' shots.

My tune is now setup to give my 250z 935-940fps shooting the AEA 21.9gr and nearly all 'fliers' have disappeared.

I fired this target this morning with the 250z/AEA 21.9gr. Of 40-shots fired, there was only 1-shot that I feel was a 'flier'. Going forward with the 250z I think it's shooting the AEA 21.9gr as well as I can expect..., and certainly well enough for my use hunting Rock Chucks!

Having a blast of air, with some fellow airheads. Here are some pics of the guns that were shot today.
Ended the evening with setting up cards for 50 yard benchrest. Mine will get scored up for BillM's benchrest competition. My first time shooting an official 50 yd card. 50 yards from bench, 75°F, 0 mph winds, dusk, with the Air Venturi Ascent 25 cal, shooting JSB pellets. I pumped after every 4 shots (about 30x/4 shots). Feeling blessed.
