The 2026 Pumpkin Carve Is Coming Soon - So Are Special Patches!

These special patches will be issued to competitors at the discretion of our "Master of Ceremonies" @pan60

The patches are 3-Inches in diameter, are substantial, waterproof and slightly three-dimensional. They look great

Everyone is going to want one of these velcro-backed, high quality patches for their range bag or jacket!

But the only way to get one is to participate in the HAM Community Pumpkin Carve. It's starting soon...

Well, having done it, I can say it’s kind of boring and not worth anyone else making the effort. I will participate, just because I’m boring, if I can sneak it in without Elaine noticing. Yes that is part of my new tactics: keep the playing field small. If you can’t beat them, eliminate them.
Of course my post is in jest, it is a blast. Elaine mentioned to me last week that she is going to start preparing her idea for this year’s entry. She was not happy to hear that @FL22 already has a pumpkin. The patches look awesome.

Honestly had Elaine & @FL22 ranked ahead of mine last year, Wednesday & the gator were awesome!

We need a study on the effectiveness of wadcutters vs domes vs slugs in pumpkin carving. Science has ignored this important field far too long. Maybe HAM can get a government grant.

Here in NY the local farm stores have pumpkins out. I will have to stop and pick one up to carve.
