PCP What would be your choice?

I'm considering buying another .30 cal PCP. I already have an FX M3 that I use for 100 yd BR competiton, but want one without all the heavy extra hardware. I'm considering"

Brockock Sonoran
RAW HM1000x Mini LRT
Cricket Tactical

What would you choose or is there a better choice? I'm leaning toward the Brocock instead of any tactical because there are fewer protrusions.
I have 3 30 cal rifles, Black Wolf chassis with a Sub MOA barrel, a ghost factory 23 inch polished barrel, and the Sonoran….If you told me I could only have 1 it would be the Sonoran.

BW is the most comfortable off the bench. Too heavy for hunting or EFT.

Ghost OK off the bench, Heavy for hunting and good for EFT.

Sonoran OK off the bench, but a friend made a bag rider for me, that I am testing, which made the Sonoran much better off the bench, great for hunting and good/great for EFT…..Down side in my eyes, not enough “Balls” to get the 50 grain pellets into 890-900 FPS.

I concur (not that it matters lol): the only downsides to the Sonoran is the power curve for heavier pellets/ slugs and the stock for Benchrest. The stock is a minor issue, with workarounds and a non-issue if you’re not buying it for Benchrest. The power is fine for 45gr and 50gr up to about 900fps like Pesty states. My Sonoran likes 850-890fps with 45gr pellets and so again not an issue for me. Mine also really likes AEA 52.2gr slugs and can shoot them MOA at 100yds with the available power. I wanted to try the 66gr pellets and couldn’t because of the power. Now that I have a Panthera MKII that can, I see that I wasn’t missing anything LOL. It’s definitely a solid air rifle. I would like to try a BW, but that’s a non-contender in the $2k category. The 1:26 barrel seems to be a winner for .30 versatility.

Just a question for all here asking about 30 cal barrels accuracy. If you were to get any 30 cal rifle how would you judge its accuracy? Would you shoot at 100 on a breezy day and hold dead ctr and expect to drill the 10 ring 5 for 5 ? Would you shoot at 50 in same conditions and expect the same? Just how would you judge having a good or bad barrel for 100 yd bench?

If I purchased a 30 caliber I would put it up against my best (and only lol) hundred yard gun, my Taipan. Shoot a 5 x 5 challenge card each in succession repeating as necessary and compare. What else could I do?

Well that was the purpose of the question just what could be done. Every little thing affects accuracy at 100. All pellets must weigh exactly the same, the wind must be exactly the same better yet non existent, the gun itself should be capable of almost 0 sd, and the shooter must execute with perfection. 100 yd pellet accuracy is tough.

In my quest for 100 yd perfection i have found the held ideas to be totally backward! I consider my most consistently accurate for groups to be my 28” 177 barrel shooting 13 gr jsb slugs! Yep overall it will consistently shoot as good or better at 100 than anything else and that goes against the grain!

No different than firearms: at 100yd MOA is considered decent accuracy. If I could shoot it in no wind at 100yds from the bench and get at least one sub-MOA 5 shot group out of 5 and one or two groups at or near MOA , I’d consider it a really good shooter. If I could get one or two groups .8 MOA or less I’d consider it exceptional. To be honest , in my unqualified opinion: if a rifle can shoot one sub-MOA group out of almost every 5x5 card, I’d consider it a sub-MOA barrel. That knowing it’s not a one off sub-MOA group and I’m not a sub-MOA shooter. I figure if it can do it every 4 or 5 groups, it’s not a fluke.

The 9-ring is 1.250" in diameter. You want to be able to hold the 9-ring for all 25 shots.

If you hit all 9s you have a 225. The hope is that you can hit a few 10s as you go to bring your score up into the low 230s.
