.30 Launched FX HALO .30 Slugs From the FX Panthera MKII

Interesting, the impulse shot very well and I think I can get them dialed in better, I was quite surprised with the groups I shot last night with all three slugs, with just getting them tuned, need to spend more time with them to get tighter groups
The RMR/FX/IA slug, in .30, shoots the most accurately in my Paradigm, so I use them, but I would like to find something that shoots better. They are sooo dirty and foul my bore within 30 shots, and my bore is very polished. Every time I fill my gun I pull a patch 2-3 times through the barrel to keep the accuracy up, which is exceptional.

Not sure if you looked an my groups on the 5x5x100 yard challenge but the bottom right the Halos started to drift to the left, guessing it was a dirty barrel, I noticed they seemed dirty, going to wash the next patch that I shoot!

I think that you at least need to roll these in a paper towel until you see that no more swarf is coming out of the cavities. I also use either Ballistol or Pledge on a paper towel and roll them in that too.

For how dirty the .30 are they are absolutely clean when compared to the .22 version. The .22 Hybrid is the dirtiest airgun projectile that I have ever seen. The hollow point is just the right size to trap the swarf and you have to roll them for quite awhile to get it all out. I will never buy those again. With the size of the halo hollowpoint, if they make a .22 that would be the one to try.

I was talking with one of the guys at the shoot today about the Halos and a buddy of his did not like them beyond 120 yards as he thought they were tail heavy due to the big hollow point on them

It would definately seem to be a pesting round. I don't think they would work for me. I only use my .30 for porcupines, mostly, occasionally woodchucks. The Hybrids are already close to iffy on penetration and the Halos seem to blow up even more. Plus, I have had pretty good consistency shooting the Hybrids out to 155y.

I am hoping to get the NSA 49.5 dialed in. Going the Oregon Extreme Benchrest in 3 weeks and the are doing a 145 to 300 yard contest. Planning to shoot the .30 if y I can get them shooting better

Good luck! That is where the fun is at! Super challenging, probably one of the few competitions where the shooters are actually competing mostly against themselves. Everybody always says that, but in this case I'd be more inclined to believe it, lol.
