I don’t do archery anymore because I figure that the stress of drawing a compound, would be too much stress on my neck. Florida made it legal for me to use an arrow launcher during bow season. I thought I saw a rifle that could be swapped between arrows and pellets/slugs. Does such an animal exist? I’m just curious, maybe it would be too complicated. I could use a crossbow, but kind of like the idea of a Benjamin Airbow. Just toying with the idea.

@Billm Several. Off the top of my head the: Seneca Recluse, Benjamin Bulldog, and I believe the Seneca 909 can handle all three projectiles. The Seneca Dragon Claw, The Seneca Double Shot, the Western Bushpig/Bushbuck Carbine can handle slugs and airbolts.

Thanks. I was sure I saw a blurb somewhere mentioning it. Now that would make one of these rifles very interesting. You’re going to eventually push me past my objections to the space age look of the Bulldog. 😀

Here’s something to think about. The original .357 Benjamin Bulldog shooting air bolts.

I have to find my thread shooting bolts with the Western Bushpig. There’s some slug and bolt shooting in the thread below.

Great information, thanks.

I've done some testing myself and have found that bolts/arrows flying faster than 600FPS blow right through targets or get so lodged in it that you end up breaking the arrow trying to take it out. Losing and breaking arrows while gathering DOPE or practicing is too costly for me. So, from my experience, 350-450FPS are great hunting speeds with arrow weight and type of broadhead being major factors. At those speeds, most quality crossbow targets will work.

I am a HUGE American Air Arms fan and have collaborated with the owner to help design arrow barrel kits for the Evol .30. Check out my findings:

In the first video, that barrel is still just a prototype but in the second video, Beaver's Dam Warehouse in FL is the only dealer that sell the FL-30 and the arrow barrel kit for it. While testing that airgun, I added a Mega Mouth Bow fishing reel and made my own custom arrows so that I can bowfish! I have yet to test it on carp but initial testing has been great!

I am still testing the right arrow formula for optimal speed/penetration out of the FL-30 though I have had success with its current setup. I will continue to share my findings if yal are interested.
