250Z Barra 250Z 22 plenum install

Hi all I finally got my 14cc plenum installed i received from C88 Machining for $52 bucks. Degassed the 250Z 22 first off then removed the stock. Un-installed reg gauge from rifle and set aside. Reinstalled rifle stock. Then lubricated the plenum body and oring and screwed the unit in place where the gauge was removed with proper oring in place where it threads in and only hand tight. Then Installed the 8mm dowdy washer on gauge threads then installed and slightly tightened. Tightened up degassing screw and cocked the rifle and filled and checked for leaks and 24 hour leak test is started til tomorrow. Testing to follow on next warm day. Pics below may not be in order but they are all there. It's one of the easiest repairs or upgrade I have ever done. No holes to drill or widen. Easy peazy!

I'm following too! I have been very curious, from the start, of what just a moderate plenum extension would do. Understandably, most people who bother at all, modify a lot more, and there are no apple to apple comparisons.

@Dogowski if you're just going to set your reg once, and not touch it, I would suggest removing the gauge and plug the hole once you are done tuning it. You can always just unscrew the plug and screw back in the gauge if you want to change things up, and you wouldn't have to be so mindful of not screwing up the gauge when you're out and about shooting. Just my thoughts on it, I don't know how you plan to use the gun. I live in the land of stonewalls, everywhere, and I could imagine that gauge taking a hit when I use one to shoot.

Thisssssss! To me, I love seeing folks post their data on one thing, and then another on a similar somewhere else, and we get to see the differences, and decide for ourselves. This forum is absolutely killer for that.

You can always just unscrew the plug and screw back in the gauge if you want to change things up, and you wouldn't have to be so mindful of not screwing up the gauge when you're out and about shooting. That's a great tip as you don't want to bang around the rifle and break the gauge cover.

I'm going to make a slip on sleeve to prevent damage while out hunting. I'm looking for the right material in the garage but I haven't found yet. Any ideas are appreciated as I would like to leave the gauge on?

It's a cool design and what was really great to me was no drilling or filing of the stock. You just screw it in.

That's a 3d print job for sure! Have the slip-on made oblong to fit a cavity for your fill probe and then you can keep it on the gun. I'd look to do something like that, if I could make it look good. lol

If I were going to do this, what would you use? A set screw? What size and how long? Would you use some kind of thread tape or sealant? Forgive my ignorance, I’m new here and learning as I go.
