The quality audit conducted this week was a systematic review of our company's processes, procedures and products to ensure that they meet Decathlon's strict quality requirements. It was conducted by an independent auditor to verify compliance with our customer's high standards.

The positive result confirms once again that quality is not just a buzz word at H&N, but our top priority. Our CEO Christian Hirschel: "We are proud that we passed the regular quality audit by our important customer Decathlon without any complaints. It enables us to continue to offer our premium products to airgunners in the vast global network of Decathlon branches."

We, H&N Sport, are a German company that produces premium airgun pellets and slugs, and bullets for centerfire weapons and muzzleloaders. Our company, which was founded 1825, is one of the world's leading manufacturers in this industry.

Already Carl Georg August Natermann, the “father” of H&N Sport, had a major goal: to manufacture products with outstanding quality. We continue his legacy in controlling every step of manufacturing our products – from toolmaking to wire production to surface finishing – at our factory.

Decathlon S.A. is an internationally active French manufacturer and retailer of sports equipment and clothing. The range of more than 35,000 different sporting goods offers equipment and clothing for over 75 sports, including hunting and sport shooting. The company operates 1,747 stores in 60 countries around the globe.

Jörg,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that H&N's quality is recognized by such an independent audit!

But I have to admit that I have never heard of Decathlon.

So I went to their (English language) website at Decathlon | Best Gear, Clothing and Footwear For All Sports and tried a search for "airguns". Nothing - at least no airguns. Just some clothes, exercise weights and mountain bikes.

Then I looked at their product range. This is what I saw. Frisbee is listed as a "Precision Sport", but - again - no mention of airguns.

So, is airguns a new area for Decalthon? If so, that would obviously be a great thing. Can you please give us a little more background?

Thanks.

Good news that decathlon may be a H&N seller.
I've used Decathlon for years, always decent quality and value.
Throughout Europe I've never known Decathlon to stock any sort of rifle, always just shooting accessories. Easier licensing and retail I guess.
Generally I've always been happy with Decathlon.
Well done H&N. 👍

Funny wheres any air gun stuff at that place? Nothing comming up there for me using search or menus

wheres the airgun stuff.webp

Maybe H&N is doing sports bras and fishing rigs , but no air guns or ammo..

Shame, this thread had the potential to discuss H&N, wider market, not something like Walmart, in the USA.

Cheap and cheerful, available now. The preferred choice of some. Perhaps not for all.

I saw a great breakthrough for h&n, credit to them. Yes, I've shopped in Walmart USA and Decathlon China and Europe. A totally different experience.

Perhaps I'm misguided, possibly the forum was solely set up for US thoughts and logic.

I apologize, simply for being me. Mods do your bit, cancel my membership.

Regards Gary

Gary, I certainly appreciate your input. But I'm guessing that Decathlon is a completely unknown quantity to US residents - like myself. So we have no idea how to compare it. That's why you see the confused replies - including mine.

The HAM Community was definitely NOT set-up for US readers only - although they are definitely the majority.

Most of us are interested to find out about the airgun market in other countries. This is a great opportunity, it's just that we cannot see where the airgun products are on the Decathlon site.

Your apology is not required. And you're definitely NOT cancelled. Please continue to educate us about the airgun market in Europe!

Thank you.

Agree with @hameditor, stick around! I personally like hearing about the EU market as well, & suspect a high percentage of the American shooters here would agree.

Admittedly, wasn't familiar with Decathlon, but now I know :). Sounds like a big deal for H&N, and another purchasing option for the EU guys & gals. Win-win!!

Hmm, just realized... at this moment in time, every airgun & pellet in my safe was made somewhere in Europe. Will change long term (gotta get me a .25 EVOL after they hit the market), but for now just like my ancestry- 100% European.

Thanks, lately I'm only seeing negativity on this relatively new forum, something a few are excellent at.
I was optimistic, new forum, mods from the whole Western world. Something to believe, trust and communicate with.
My issue, not the forum, hence my apologies.

Next week I will be marshalling at the European FT competition, so I'm travelling and busy, little time for negativity.

Lots of time for a positive forum 😉
Plus, well done H&N

Regards Gary

GARY: Perhaps your seeing negativity on this forum sponsored be HAM is a matter of language differences and interpretation more than the intent of this fourm's moderators and members. My view of this forum is one of sharing our experiences and opinions openly about the airgun sport. Some of our experiences with a product or activity my be experienced with some negativity, but my reading of the forum leaves me with a far more positive experience than a negative one. I am very interested in your experiences within the EU airgun sport. So very many of the airgun products we
purchase here in the US are made by European countries that I feel a kindred spirit with you in this sport. I have enjoyed traveling throughout much of Europe and enjoy learning of our similarities and differences. Please continue sharing on this forum and adding your experience and opinions. Shoot well, my friend. Orv.

Wow that is great to see that your company is working so hard on QC. Nearly half the conversations I have with airgunners, enthusiasts to Pros, is about how they want to use more consistent ammo. Anyway, all this to say bravo and cool stuff.

I already know the guys, my shooting jacket already wears a east Devon field target patch.
Soon I'll be sipping beer with the lads, well a coke with teatotal Brian. 😉

Just to keep the original thread topic on track I'll spend the 3 days on the course wearing my Decathlon shooting trousers and H&N are a major sponsor of the competition 👍.

Seeing H&N being audited by Decathlon is a big step, H&N products will be available locally, accessable without ordering from online or abroad.

From my personal thoughts about negativity, I've read a lot of positives. Credit to the posters and forum. Thanks.

Shoot well guys, enjoy what we have.

I'm staying around.....

Thanks for your input! Enjoy the match and shoot well. 👍

Thanks,
I'm not shooting, just marshalling.
For the last couple of years I haven't been able to walk a course. Mobility problems after a accident.
Fortunately I still manage to help out whenever I can.
Most of all I will enjoy and see old friends and colleagues. That's the hobby 😉.

Most days I still shoot, just a different format to European FT, something that works for me.
Sticks and bucket 🪣. Life 😂

Hi Stephen,

Thank you. Two additions to my post:
1. I forgot to mention that our pellets are sold under their brand name "Solognac" (brand name for hunting products). Decathlon almost exclusively sells goods under its own brand names in its shops. The pellets have probably not yet been included in the US product range.
2. The majority of the shops can still be found in Europe. In most countries in Europe and Asia you need a weapons trade license to trade in air rifles. A retail chain cannot do that easily.

Best regards

Jörg

Hello Jõrg,

Thanks for the additional information. This is obviously a great opportunity for H&N and endorsement of your product quality..

Also several of us - including myself - have now heard of Decathlon for the first time.

Stephen

Yes, Solognac is thier hunting brand.
At least when I can see pellets in Decathlon, I can reliably inform fellow shooters they are H&N. Happy days ahead. 👍

Off to the European FT, be missing a few days, hopefully our sponsors have a new H&N shooting cap waiting for me. My old one is a bit shabby 😔. I joke.🙂

I guess its all well and good , but for me here like a place i use to get h&n pellets walk in store ( not just h&n) it started thay dwindled down the line then last they had just barracuda now today nothing in h&n . So again pellets i use to just go in town and buy are now mail order only at a inflated price + mail order hassle and wait.. so its a id gladly use your pellets but im not going out of my way to.. especially when i use to not have to kinda thing. Anyway a few brands or certain ones have gone that route.. even crosman . Use to easy get flathead/ wads and domed local .. not no more as another example . Norma the same . Heck Daisy as well...

When getting a ammo becomes a inconvenience i just dont get them and move on to whos are . Dont matter how good your product is if its not readly and convenient available for someone to buy and use

Let's update this.
Totally of no interest to non Europeans. 😉.
No offence intended.

Decathlon, in my nearest city, now sell pellets.🙂. Only 4.5 at the moment but that's a start.
Solognac is the brand name. Apparently I can order online then collect from the store.

Technology 🙂, modern methods finally reached Eastern Europe.

well done H&N.👍

honestly if my wife knew how much I've spent on pellet /slug postage the last few years I'd be back to using sling shots.

Happier times ahead 😉.
