I legit got this as a come up from my break barrel, for rats and pigeons. Why do I know, bunnies, raccoons, squirrels, are soon to be no longer safe chewing gardens, tearing into trash cans, and stuffing up gutters, and pulling out insulation?

Looks great man. I've got a Pard DS35-70 night vision coming for mine. Should be here mid week. I'm looking forward to testing it out! Using a Sniper brand scope right now and she's deadly accurate.

I've heard good things about dnt, and might save up for when these rats wise up to my last supper set up I made for them, but I've got to look into how sensitive they are to the ir light if they can see it.

Thanks though. Makes pretty quick work of the pests that hop on the slab.

I've heard good things about dnt, and might save up for when these rats wise up to my last supper set up I made for them, but I've got to look into how sensitive they are to the ir light if they can see it.

Yes indeed, especially around barns and cattle feed as the rats and mice just feast on it. Makes for some fun shooting!

I think the limit is 1100FPS so if you are planning to shoot supersonic it may not work. Utah says 1300FPS, but unless i crank my .22 Talon up to 2500PSI and use light pellets I cant test the 1100FPS limit.

I have a bunch of Chinese talking chrony, 2 Shooting Chrony (Alpha and beta), a Bluetooth shoot through and a Caldwell that all just sit on the shelf since I bought the FX.

I may buy a 2nd as backup.

I looked at the box, had a little PTSD memory, then walked to the garbage and dropped it in.

I would think(and this is down the line thinking, at the moment, im just trying to rack up out of the box numbers) if i went closer to mid 900's it would be to dial in with slugs, for the larger critters around here, yotes, and big Ole racoons.

Im sure I'll slug this barrel pretty soon to get a tell tale sizing, and a decent crono like this will help in the process. If my spare barrel shows up, and both of them are good, I may snatch another one up to have a straight up slug hunter, and go the route of getting permits, and take courses for pest control certification so I can help others pest problems, and get paid in my off time, buuuuut, time will tell.

Haven't used anything else since I got the FX.

The talking chrony have posts on the end for various diameter barrels and moderator. So I have them configured for all my moderators. They are a pain to change diameter.

2 of my coworkers asked about if they should get one, I told them, do research. There's pros and cons to every budget pellet rifle. I'd hate for em to get this, on a 1/4 complete review.

Northeast Beast certainly delivered on this bit of kit no doubt.

Yeah, I will start a new post when it comes time to be messing with the hammer spring. I need to tkow the length of the v1 hammer spring, and depth of the cavity on the hammer in the v1. I'd like to see the differences between the two versions, so I can have an idea of the modifications needed to turn the slug kit into a drop in, for the v2, and a reference for the newer 250 z owners to go to.

I've got a buddy that runs a cnc, might see what it entails to get a more enjoyable trigger too after I do a bit of dremmel work in there.

The trigger on my version 1 250z with the flat blade was horrible out of the box. Northeast Beasts trigger kit was a game changer! When I installed his slug kit I noticed a flat washer installed then the hammer spring. I don't know if all gen 1s had a flat washer to give it the extra length? He was working on a trigger blade replacement but I don't know where he is on that. I still just hate the feel of that flat plastic trigger blade!

Yeah, this trigger system, it's 100% my biggest gripe. Fixable, for sure, but yeah, if it was a top notch trigger, straight from the box, with a nicer bolt, yeah I'm pretty sure it would be pretty well out of my whole budget pest pcp. At least assuming their barrel problems are one off.

Mine is officially on its way. Had a huge mess up last night, figured id drop the reg down to 2100, and moved the scope a hair to adjust the sight box.

Like a dummy, I spaced doing these things, and had to shoot a rat 3 times. I really doubt it was a power issue, but, a placement issue. 1st one was the last one I went for last night.

Ill rezero my scope this weekend, get the cronograph in, fire off 15 of every pellet I currently have, post the specs, and start the tune.

1st is going to be the trigger/hammer spring project for the slug power kit to be a drop in.

Then I'm going to tune for a pellet tune, and over the winter, just focus on these rats.

Spring, I'll go full send on the slugs. Got the 2495 sampler pack from h&n coming, a zan 250 sampler pack coming, an Apollo tin on its way. We'll see how these barrels fair.

None of the critters you wanna hunt will notice the IR… been hunting with a DNT Zulus now for 6 months and my 250z is called the “Desert Wraith” for a reason. She collects souls at night
