Others Scba tanks

I just received 3 aluminum scba tanks anyone use these . they are almost new but dates are out .

I use scab tanks but they carbon over aluminum rated at 4500.

Same, mine are also Carbon and out of date but I never fill them over 3500 psi. So far so good. Aren't the aluminum ones a much lower PSI rating? Like 3000?

The Aluminum ones I had from Work are 1.5 liter 200 bar stamped on the side.

This one might be easier to read. I can get more of these. One of the scuba shops takes them from me for $7 apiece

One is Msa the other two are Scott I think they do say 3000 wasn't sure if they were safe to use ?

Got 3 Dräger bottles 300 bar - 6 liter from the fire department 3 years old and they have to renew them for the smoke diving crew They were pressure tested and have a life span of 15 years

I paid $ 15 per bottle, so a very good deal !

Quite a score! I rarely find deals like that! I did get My 2 Carbon bottles off of EBAY for I think $80 shipped.

Made in 2021 and tested in 2021 and again in early 2025 before I purchased them

They do not sell them without being tested first

The reason I chose the Carbon over the Aluminum is from what I read the Carbon bottles usually just start leaking rather than a full blown rupture.

It's true. If the aluminum liner corrodes through the air will find any path through the carbon fiber matrix and will just leak. Carbon fiber doesn't fatigue nor corrode. The only way a carbon fiber tank will explode is if it's way over pressurized. I'm talking like 10k psi and more.

Maybe call a Scuba shop and ask about recirtify and see how much it would be? Just wondering?

So what kind of Head Regulator would he put on these to refill a PCP rifle?

I dont have a regulator head on mine but I use these SCBA Hose Assembly - TopGun-Airguns

So once it's filled you only use the Gun gauge to read what your putting in? Your not sure how much pressure is left in the tank?
