Others Through Scope Recording Options

What do you mean exactly?
I mean your parallax, white balance, and diopter. These three are the main crux as I see it, any of them off your quality is not a little diminished but greatly so. It takes a lot of intentionality to get higher quality. The other thing I should say is that your zoom in ratio also factors into the quality a fair bit. I've noticed a more moderate 30%50 zoom on the camera itself crops a good ratio of the scope body out and then in post I can further zoom in

If they'd just release the FTS components for the 6.0, I'd buy a complete setup. My way of thinking is I'd buy the 5.0 FTS kit and the next day they'd release the 6.0 FTS adapter kit.
Unfortunately they will not be releasing a FTS adaptable to the 6.0 camera. As of now the 5.0 is discontinued with the Solo Extreme taking its place that imo isn't an improvement at all. I think Tactacam is more focused on trail cameras and the bowhunting market. I enjoy the 5.0 but it looks as though Tactacam is veering away from innovation.

I know people have been talking about the TactaCam........ has anyone been able to use the Trigger Cam units?

Have used the Side-Shot and while I got it set up in my house, once I got out and started shooting things moved. All of the footage was garbage and unusable. Would be great to have an option that is quick to power up and not have to worry about fiddling as much.

If you don't correctly set the eye piece and the parallax to the camera, not your eye, you will get less than ideal results. Just watch some of my videos where I have driven 2 hours and filmed and the scope cam is slightly out of sync with the scope because I set it up on location, sigh. Now I double check before leaving and leave it on full time. No more taking it off this scope for me.
All the comments about having to choose between a clean picture to your eye or to a clean video are exactly why I hated the Tactacam. I don’t want to have to choose between whether I can see when I shoot or if my video is going to look good. My guess is that you have to be lucky enough for your eyesight and the camera to work in the same location or compromise. It was much too different for me.

The GoPro 7 with the Eaglevision lens was amazing. I was able to leave my scope set up for my eyesight and then adjust the camera lens to the scope setup. Bingo! I see clearly and the camera sees clearly. That is what I want in a scope cam.

After my experiences with the Tactacam and then the GoPro, I have wondered if a lot of people just get lucky or settle for compromises when then get the cameras that cannot be adjusted well.

See I've had a couple rifle cams before, and all of them have taken work to dial in. I think it has more to do with your eye and the scope you are using.

Personally I like the Tactacam. 4k, simple-ish. It is a bummer that no new versions are not in the works, but I am still getting used to this one.

I would like to try other scope cams and scopes like the ATN and such. Maybe someday I'll explore that.

So my Tactacam 5.0 FTS system arrived yesterday. I shot two 5 shot groups a bit ago while recording in HD, supposedly in slow motion. Well, I though it was supposed to be in slow motion. It was @ 6pm and starting to get dark which resulted in a very grainy image. The thing that was even worse was the video picks up my reflection and anything behind me. That's not cool.

I try to place my eye right up to the scope to cut down the light

Lol..ya...
The problem with the ATN and why I stick to the Tactacam is that I can use any scope and any reticle I want. ATN is a full commitment. I've checked them out and like them a lot but I do like the ability to change scopes

I was discussing options and for me i dont need any extra stuff hanging on the gun..

Right now for just recording shots on a target just a camera with good zoom on a tripod will do + i then got a camera to use elsewhere.. so far on the no thrills cheaper side x52 zoom wifi , bla , bla..

Yeah the Tactacam does good on 4k regular speed and you can pop it out and use it as a secondary camera.

Idk. Anyway you look theres not a good option.
Lol

That camera (Kodak) is a revamped older model but has the wifi ( just that one in that line). And the "astro" lens feature. Theres one that has a 90x lens .. that line ranges from 25x to 90x lens . Anyway if i cant record a vid at that 52x on a 100y target. Lol..

At Walmart in store its $199. I figured come x-mas / black Friday maybe knock another $20 off. Well worth a try and convenient on the bench standalone use..

Then if i need a camera on a trip or vacation you got that to .

Just being a "astro" camera that i giess now folks eant pictures of the moon and stars shoud do target range easy enugh.. lol

What quality of video does it do? Absolutely a good option to use a secondary target camera. Especially for more casual videos. If you are doing a review or hunt, however, people really want verification through the reticle

1080p is fine for 99% of people. My videos are filmed in 4k, but I work in the industry so there is a need for 4k to crop and for detail. If it records well send us a sample. I would be interested in recording time limits (usually they have time limits to prevent overheating).
