Few more ground squirrels with the Evol

Went out for a couple hours to some orchards I visit regularly to pest hunt. I almost never take pictures with ground squirrels, mostly because I don't want to touch them. They carry alot of disease and the fleas that come off them can transfer it. The other reason is many times they fall down embankments or back in thier holes. Maybe one of these days I'll pick up a scope cam and start a channel, I do this often and this year alone I've shot hundreds of ground squirrel, pigeon, Eurasian dove and starlings. Anyways , here's 4 of 18 I shot today with my Evol, kind of a slow day usually I get well into the 30s or more.

The plague and tularemia to start. Theres a handful of others, but any fleas that come off them(which starts very soon after thier dead) can transmit them

Yea they're nasty little buggers. Not only are they destructive ass hell to crops, canal banks and such but spread disease to livestock. They are no different than rats basically and the goal is to take em all out

Umm as someone who shot 10 ground squirrels this weekend and was who loves to shoot doves just wondering if you need some help wherever you are lol…. Sounds like you’re having fun!

I’m 100% with you! I have a heavy leather glove that is the only thing I will touch them with!

Also I won’t spam you by posting it again but a scope that records is so much fun. I got like 6 or 7 of the squirrels I shot this weekend on film and it’s so much fun to watch.

If you have to/want to move them, use one of these - $10 on Ammyzon. Store it with the tip in a bucket of bleach solution.

I actually had thought about doing this exact thing, but then I realized I would only be collecting them for a picture then dumping them. I think the best way to "collect" them is going to be a scope cam

Knocked a couple of these guys down a few days ago as well, think we ended up with around 20ish but these were what could collect and give to the farm workers.

Thats what I use, very handy for pulling dead rats out of tight spaces. Big plus is my hands don’t touch the nasty things. Mine comes along on all my pesting outings…

Dairies and farms usually want these guys gone. They eat a ton of feed, poop on everything, nest where they shouldn't and breed like rats. Stop by any local farm and make sure you tell them pellet gun and alot of times they let you have at it!
