My first quality AG was a Model 48 when I was in high school. I got rid of it in my early 20’s when I got into PB’s, now I’m looking for another quality springer. I thought it might be cool to get another 48, but I don’t know if it’s a 500 dollar rifle from what I remember. I had a 177, I am debating a 177 or 22 springer.

What do you think?

Last I heard the 48 is no longer in production. Mine is a .177. The last pestling I did was with the 48. My mom had a bunch of squirrels that chewed through the soffit and were getting into the attic. I took out the first 2 with an old Crosman Co2 , but it took a couple of finishing shots. I broke out the Diana 48 with wad cutters and the next four squirrels were all one shot kills. They fell like bricks. I would think if it’s a like new rifle and they are discontinued $500 might be reasonable. There’s a cult following for Weirauchs, FWB and Diana.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn’t aware of it being discontinued. I want a good 177 springer for my backyard. I was thinking about a model 48 for nostalgia, but I will probably eventually buy an HW50S. It seems like a better choice for my needs and a good choice for future parts if needs come up.

Hello friends of DIANA
Let us bring some light into the darkness.
Actually both models 48 + 52 are discontinued. Still available is the 54 Airking in cal. .22.
We know that these all are famous models. So it will be worth to keep the eyes open on launches during the next few years.
Greetings from Germany.
So...... a future Four Eighty in the Adventure Line? I would get one!

Thank you for the reply. I wish I had kept my old Model 48 I bought in the late 90's.
