What's y'all's opinion on the various through scope recording options? Tactacam, GoPro, Firefly, you name it. I have an older GoPro 4 Hero Black that I purchased for diving and snorkeling adventures. I have to say, due to the wide field of view the GoPro was a let down for that purpose. If an Orion mount can be used on my older GoPro, that might be a viable start provided the field of view isn't an issue there too.
I'll be mounting it to either an Athlon Talos 4-14 FFP or an Arken EPL4 6-24 scope.

Eagle vision sell a specific lens to replace the factory GoPro one . This will change it from wide angle to roughly 90degree 👍🏻

I can really only recommend the Tactacam 5.0, I've used GoPros, sideshot and several phone mounts. My biggest issue is the way some of these systems mount to the scope. I do a tremendous amount of hiking in very rugged terrain and simply cannot have bulky units hanging off the side, main reason is they shift. I do document most all of my trips with the Tactacam, it's not the best video quality over using a GoPro but I can at least trust it will not shift. I like how easy it is to use the app, I like the ease of turning it on and off and it has been extremely durable and able to fit to just about any scope. I have a ton of experience with these units and will say like anything it does take a learning curve to setup correctly. Regardless of what camera you decide on, a very good scope is my recommendation if you are looking for a superb video quality. I see lots of people unhappy with footage they get and typically it's because they have low quality glass.

I wish they'd make an FTS mount compatible with the Tactacam 6.0. I'd jump on that bandwagon really fast.

Honestly I'm not sure what they have going on, I was literally one of the first testers of the original 5.0/ since then they have fazed out several products. The 6.0 would be nice with mount, really can't understand why they haven't. I think they might be more focused on bowhunters and the Reveal game camera.

I emailed their support team a month ago asking if they plan on making a FTS mount for the 6.0, crickets, nothing but crickets......

On another note, my lady dropped a PARD NV008S on her Wildcat BT. She wants to night hunt coyotes. As for me and the Pard, I don't know what to think of it. I like the idea of it being able to record and do night vision, but the optics is very lackluster compared to even a bad optical scope. 4k is why I'm hoping the Tactacam 6.0 gets its own FTS mount.

I recently got the tactacam 5.0 with FTS and tbh , it took me 1 video to get it down. A little tedious at first but once you are familiar with how the mode button reacts, and the different indicator lights its quite easy. The quality is great too. I do not think you can find better for the price.

like @AtlasAirguns said though you have to dial it in to your scope, so you have to adjust your diopter adjustment while using the wifi mode to make sure the recording comes out clear.

The diopter adjustment could be a wonderful thing or a nightmare for me. I have a terrible astigmatism and due to an ugly MX wreck in the 80s my neck doesn't get along too well with scopes, especially while wearing glasses. I fight my glasses most of the time, and often end up screwing the diopter way out and tossing my glasses aside. If the Tacticam likes the diopter way out, it might be a perfect fit.

Sunday I had to adjust mine as the first time I used it on friday the video came out blurry, on my Helix I had to bring the diopter way out toward me and finally it came out crystal clear. Very happy with it.

Now the only thing I cant comment on is durability as I have had it less than a week but it feels well built 100%

What do you mean exactly?
If you don't correctly set the eye piece and the parallax to the camera, not your eye, you will get less than ideal results. Just watch some of my videos where I have driven 2 hours and filmed and the scope cam is slightly out of sync with the scope because I set it up on location, sigh. Now I double check before leaving and leave it on full time. No more taking it off this scope for me.

Yeah and adjust the parallax per recording. I still mess it up all the time because with all the other variables it's hard to remember. Some scopes' body construction lend themselves to the system better than others as well.

If they'd just release the FTS components for the 6.0, I'd buy a complete setup. My way of thinking is I'd buy the 5.0 FTS kit and the next day they'd release the 6.0 FTS adapter kit.
