Scope cante

Got a laser bore sighter the other day. Hoping I get to test its value tomorrow 🤞😅
Short range tests showed most of my zero's horizontal axis to be just a tad to the right. Was able to look down the scope and adjust with laser. I really liked watching the crosshairs just meander on over and line up perfectly. For distance; I'm literally going to need more room to verify that it works as advertised.🤣🤙

Looks like im a little off . Using hold under @50'.

The 2 right first 3 top on line clicked over . 2 below holdunder dot 1 . 3ed below that dot 2. Bottom on line rolled scope slightly counterclockwise.
When sure your scope is completely level with rifle always helps to have a permanent bubble level on your set-up to avoid cant. Be surprised how much you can be off sometimes thinking your perfectly level.

Never had much luck with laser bore sighters. Ok for a ballpark estimation but i'm mostly still way off. Then again only tried the real cheap crappy ones :ROFLMAO:

Well. If your levels aint perfectly matched ( bubbles) its not going to be perfectly level. Even if the best look to your eye just a 1/10 of a fraction ='s alot down range.

For shooting i have glued a level vial on ..

I call it the cant cante device...lol

Try a card at 10m with a cross . Zero dead center of the cross ( windage and elevation). That should be good to 50y with high poi at mid points (25/30y). / Trajectory arc.

Figuring/referencing the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy in...😅
If I zero my ruger at 42yrd using the H&N FTTs; I get this for my scope chart.

I just shot this for example.

Using the 4th dot at 10m (at cross point.. top hole using crosshair)
10m4thmil.jpg
Then using the same 4th dot at 50y
50y4thmil.jpg
That's about on paper as you get. All at 6x power 2 shots each

I see!🤩
And! I've come to realize that the area that I shoot in; is not at all level with where I am slinging from. Technically I am in a higher than the target elevation most of the time. Using the apps help me get a little closer. They only use a "level" based target though. However, like you say; just testing it will show actual results instead of numbers that are hopefully close.
