First Blood, Pathfinder XR…

Luis Leon

Master HAMster
Country flag
I received the Pathfinder XR on June 30th, did nothing but scope it and put almost half a tin down range. Today I took her out to the former dairy, alas the days of hundreds of kills overnight are no more. I am working on getting a new dairy permission soon. Arrived, unpacked, ranged a few landmarks and…? First shot at a starling at 53 yards off the top slat of that high window, kill! Took a second, but from my station wagon side view mirror from the peak of that high roof which was 60 yards. Took 6 off of the picture low hoop house roof at 40 yards. Best shots of the day were two sparrow off of the tree beyond the low roof at 60 yards. All my crazy plinking at home really pays off in the field. After I made my first kill, I missed twice on sparrows at 50 yards. I will be working on the trigger, because both misses were trigger induced. All kills with CPHPs, TP on high. All 40 yard kills, scope on 6X. I did not bother to recover the kills from all the undergrowth. And the ones on the roofs the hawks or owls will have them. I did walk around with it, but as I have it setup she still heavier than I like. The scope will be downsized and the bipod will be put on as needed. The gun simply speaks for itself… “just turn me loose” she says.

Love the pics. Pretty nice setup you have.
