Wildcat When the Dream Gun Becomes a Nightmare

FX shoot great but are very unreliable in my experience. The amp reg in particular. Tiny little thing that is a bit of a pain to work on and they leak. I’ve had 3-4 fail in the last 1.5 years. I have a wildcat mk3 right now I wanted to sell but it has the tiniest leak in reg 1. Won’t sell like that. However it’s so slow right now I don’t want to tear it out and mess with it. One thing I am pretty sure about at this point. That is the last FX I will ever own.
I replace my internal regs, especially AMP, with Huma regs first sign of trouble.

That is a possibility I suppose. Looking at the design it just doesn’t seem like it would be any better. I remember reading somewhere that the Huma FX reg is even worse to rebuild than the amp. I have 2 daystates with humas. Just a regulator to me. They are easy to tear apart and rebuild though. No crazy hidden difficult orings. My huma regs experience a little creep just like amps. They don’t seem to actually work any better or worse.

What reg are you using?
My Talons and Condor use a mix of Huben Power. Reg 1/2 of Cricket or full MAX-ATH. I have used the Dream Universal too. All have worked flawless.
Oh lol sorry that was a joke I don’t use a reg I like the simplicity of the talon p without a reg. 26 foot spread barely cranked up.

When i owned my Airforce i used a 2200 psi regulator off Amazon i picked up for $35.00 dollars. It worked like a dream.

I have two storage cases full of fixed regulator. I modified the Belleville washers in a lot of them so I have pretty much everything from 2200 to 3000psi in 50psi increments

Then I found Huben Power adjustable regs and plenums.

I'm expecting a full write up from you on that reg someday🥹🙏. I've been researching the full length Condor in .25 extensively to shoot slugs and/or heavy pellets and I'm stuck at either the 50cc plenum reg from Huben or the drop down tank adapter from Talon tunes. If either-or made it a combo they would have my money in a heartbeat if i had the Condor 😅
Ultimate question i have is: will the 50cc on the 24in barrel get .25 slugs to 950fps? Everything i find pertains to the SS shorty which is obviously a bit neutered.
