What'cha doing air gun related today?

You could put a tape on your elevation turret too and dial the yardage.
I do dial the elevation turret. That right column on my drop chart is MOA/clicks. :) I use the markings already on the turret.

The clicks on the Meopta scope are so positive and loud I don't even look at the turret for closer ranges as I just listen to the audible clicks and count them.

My new Air Venturi Avenger bottle adaptor arrived yesterday during the huge monsoon we had, so decided today would be an excellent time and opportunity to do the changeover, since I'm stuck inside. So I laid it all out on the bed, degassed the rifle, removed the tubes. Installed the top tube plug, then tried to install the adaptor on my bottle. Nope, my luck. Hells naw. Won't thread on for crap. Threads feel and look fine but will not thread. It's not my bottle, a regulator I have threads on perfectly fine. Just my luck. No fun today. Now have to send it across the country to wait for a new one, or this one thread repair.

Purchased a gun cabinet for the air rifles a few weeks ago, went to lock it back up today and broke the key off. Lucky enough it was not quite locked and I was able to turn it unlocked. Swapping out the lock should be simple enough it appears. Organized some of my pellets and I should probably do a lil more of the boring stuff when I have a chance. Hope y'all had a great day!

I snapped a 3.5mm wrench this morning trying to adjust some adjustable scope rings on the avenge x/element helix I bought. The 3.5 mm wrench snapped!!! Trying to loosen the allen bolt on the adjustment portion of the rings. Thank goodness the person didn't tighten the scope down like that. I bought a torque wrench and I think that fella may need one too good golly! The gx cs2 pump was damaged during shipping, I took it apart, bent the outer casing and filled a rifle to confirm it works and boy does it! Going to put new scope rings on this afternoon. Also I can't adjust the butt stock on the avenge x...the piece will not move that allows the adjustment.....that's what I get for buying used, a great price but it's a lottery some times

Well this evening I was able to install some new rings on the avenge x. Dialed in with 4 shoots and put it away.

Well, it has been so hot for the last month that I have not done any shooting but this morning it was 76 so I took out the Airforce Condor with the TJ .300 barrel. I put on the Donny FL Emperor because the Buckrail kept braking on this barrel. My POI changed quite a bit with the DFL but boy was it quiet. I did not take pictures because I was trying out using the small escape tank on the gun to see how many shots it would get with it. The small tank makes the gun a good pound lighter, like an Escape.

This is a 1:26 pellet barrel, and it shoots the JSB king 50 grain pellets hole in hole at 50 yards off of sandbags. But today I was also shooting some 51 grain solid and 65 grain boattail HP cast slugs I got on eBay. Given that this gun would normally be shooting 25-34 grain ammo, the fact that this was shooting 65 grain slugs at about 900fps was pretty cool. I did not have a chronograph running but the 50gr pellets are travelling at 882 with it set on 7/1 on the power wheel at 2500psi. I turned it all the way up to max like 13/1 and the 65 grain slugs had the same POI so I believe they were going about 900-920fps.

I prefer cast slugs in .30 calibers and above because they have one or more lube grooves in them so they have less bearing surface so they can go faster. I feel like they will not lead up the barrel as badly for the same reason.

I was surprised to see that the first 2 shots with both the 51gr solid and the 65gr BTHP slugs were 1/2 inch center to center at 50 yards. I could only get 3 shots with them and the 3rd shot would drop another 1/2 inch because of the small air tank. Next time I will put the 3600psi Condor slug barrel tank back on the gun to see if I can get a good 5 shot group with the slugs for pictures. It would do well with a Hubin Airforce regulator. Finished up shooting a one ragged hole group with the JSB 50s back at 7/1 on the wheel.

This .30 caliber TJ barrel really is a lot of fun in a Condor, and I had a great time playing with it. I think it was grouping better with the DFL .35 Emperor than the .30 Buckrail. One of these days I will try it with no moderator. If you only needed a couple of shots for hunting, you could get by with the small Escape tank especial if you had the rig with you to refill it from the nitrogen bottles that Ham showed us. I will be getting one of those before small game season starts here to carry in a small pack. Those 65gr HPs would flat tear up a coyote. At 900fps that would make 117fpe at the muzzle.

Went out, without Mini T, to "first shots" the Gamo C-15 again. Tested trigger pulls, pellet and bb accuracy, shot count per cart, etc.

Average Trigger Pull single action: 5lbs
Average Trigger pull double action: 7.25lbs
80 shots/cartridge (matches Gamo spec)
Bbs reliably shoot out, but go where they feel like.
H&N econ II have about 80% shot success for mediocre accuracy
H&N FTT had about 60-75% success rate with unknown accuracy.

After a pellet fails to fire, it will not. Below is image of appearance after failure.20260728_163229.webp

I'm going to call Air Venturi this morning and try to get some info. about my Reximex barrel that has been on order for 4-months as of today!

EDIT: I want to report that Air Venturi has what I consider, excellent customer service. They were very courteous and helpful during my call this morning.

Fired 100-pellets total through several rifles this morning at 38yds & 50yds. Was some light, and switching wind according to my wind flags/vane. Was rewarding that the large majority of my wind holds were correct and the pellets were falling where expected.

Other than shooting at vermin, my favorite thing to do with my air rifles is shooting 5-shot groups on paper. Shooting from a bench, with front and rear rest requires much more discipline than what a beginner might understand, or believe, but it's rewarding when the shot-to-shot consistency happens!

Had a great morning with the grandsons. It was their first BB gun experience. To say the least they were excited. They were better than I expected. Daisy Buck 105 and a Marksman Plainsman 1710. It was so fun.👍😊
That's wonderful!!!

Starting your grandsons on the interest of a lifetime in a safe, caring environment. Magic.

Thanks for sharing. :D

AV or PA? I understand they are very intertwined, but customer service not so much... as I have found with my OmniStorm that is now at "warranty work" for the last 9 months with no communication. 😢

I have been dealing directly with AV on this barrel order. While it is taking forever to get the barrel, I have had excellent communication with AV about the status of the order.

Just shot my 853 for the first time, and now I'm sad that I've waited this long (received in February). With cheap econ II pellets, I was on track for a perfect sore on the target I was shooting (big deal for me!) Until I paused to help the wife. Returned and barely missed first shot before getting back into my groove. 10m, rested, seated. 85F, with 9+ mph gusts.20260730_152944.webp20260730_160401.webp

I shot a couple hundred rounds from 50 yards in the back of my truck. before rain hit. I turned around and I blew the tire out in my truck in a piece of rebar sticking out of the ground. I had to grind off the spare tire bracket to get it down but was fortunate to have that with me(that's why I also drove up to the land, to get my tools!) as it poured down right after I got the spare on the truck. I think I hit the only random object sticking out of the ground, it was in tall grass and never noticed it.

Anyways I shot about 250 more rounds from the max 1, avenge x, notos and liberty. It was fun and fortunate at the same time. I just shot at 1 target over and over trying to get my shooting position and practice holding steady and better focus.

Both the Max 1 and Avenge x love aea 33.9's and jsb heavy 33.95's in the 900-850 range. The Notos is same poi on h&n 15.9 and Norma heavy. I tethered today and shot the heck out of that one
