What'cha doing air gun related today?

Wait till the Wife finds out?😁 What did you get!?
Oh and I got a Karma EQ… what can I say I have a thing for new guns with good power potential but it might be rough getting them there. I don’t love the AEA association but its got a solid metal barrel, not a flimsy liner.. 70cc plenum and 1:16 twist on the barrel on the .30 cal which I got.

Seems like it could be a lot of gun for the price but we’ll see. I’m actually gonna make it my “truck” fun initially since it’s a very solid bullpup. I’m thinking 45gr slugs at 950 for a comfortable 90fpe should be fun. It should get like 35-45 a fill I think.

Got my first Rock Chuck(Marmot) with the 250z…. Gotta say chasing those fatties was so much fun…. It’s real open country so I had to be real sneaky to get to 81y. I took the shot prone with the gun balanced on a log and managed to put a 32gr slug right into the throat.
I keep pointing out *elsewhere* that spending $2k-$3k new for a pellet gun for 90% of users is nuts. Hitting accurately at 81 yards with a sub $1000, sub $500 here, gun has become normal. Niksan, Barra, Umarex, Reximex, Snowpeak, Airforce, Kuzey, and several more, the list of guns under $1,000 that can do shoot like that just keeps growing.

I pointed out to a friend who was drooling over the latest Daystate offering that I could buy 4 Niksan rifles, 2 bullpup, 2 long, one each in .22 an .25 for less than the Daystate he tried to convince me he needed the accuracy of the Daystate. A neck shot at 81 yards with a sub $500 gun pretty much blows that out of the water.

I will say that it does help that I’ve gone over every inch of the gun and tuned it obsessively. I take squirrels beyond 100y on a regular basis with it… I’m not an amazing shot either. The gun is just a really fine shooter.

Thing is, 100 yards is an exception for most airgun owners. I've shot 100 yards or more twice in the last 4-5 years. 50 yards is tough for most urban owners unless they have access to a range.

250z is getting a very good reputation as a quality shooter. Throw in the recent Snowpeak family and the decades of AirForce utility guns and life at the low price end is good.

If you hit what you are aiming at then everything after that is looks or ergonomics.

Tested out the .25 FX 26gr hybrid slug in the RAW HM1000x. They were okay.

Then I tried the H&N Barracuda 30.8gr. The gun REALLY likes them at the current settings. 45 yards and hole in hole or edge of the hole.

Waiting on magazines before I get in depth with the chrony.

The gun does use a LOT of air

Yup completely agree… I live in a very rural area and it’s super open country so getting real close to the critters is not easy. I chose the 250z because it seemed the easiest/cheapest way to get a decent slug shooter. It has exceeded all my expectations.

I did recently drop 1k on a Karma EQ which was not an easy decision at all. The reviews have been mixed so far as people are trying to figure it out… But I do feel like once I’m done with it that it will justify the price (in .30 cal at least). But it has a solid steel barrel and 70cc plenum.

keep us posted. I know nothing about those guns except that everyone who has one seems to really really really like it.

So far it has risen to its reputation. Pretty limited what i can do until I get the magazines. The HUGE shroud & moderator are not to my liking but they work pretty well.

How many shots per fill with your .25 you think? A dealer up here has a left hand .357 RAW beast of a rifle
for sale (half price of new basically) and i keep looking at it😂🤦‍♂️ 480cc bottle but its tuned waaaay up from stock and can hit 220fpe apparently....I fear the shot count would be like 10 or so 😬.

Waiting on magazines, then I'll fill to 4500psi and shoot down to 2000psi. Need to set up a Crony. The moderator is too fat for my cheap Chinese talking wifi Chrony.

I literally was just looking at that gun 10 minutes ago. But 10-15 shots 250bar to 150bar would not surprise me.

Yeah its a beauty and it must be an older one as it still designated a 'Rapid Air Weapons' model. Very little out there about the .357 Raws.....AEAC did a nice review waaay back but this ones got about twice the power....if it was a .25 or .30 I would have long snatched it up. I don't like those HUGE moderators either....

Mine was "Weapons" too
But it had an AirForce badged bottle.
So probably a transition from Martin to AirForce.
