My Airgun weekend has been filled with success and failures. I wasn’t able to do any shooting last week but I found my Wolverine was holding air finally.

I began to fill the magazine and noticed a rogue piece of metal on a pellet that I loaded, I removed it thinking maybe that it could’ve been something from the pellet manufacture. No such luck. But I’m still grateful that I didn’t send it down the barrel.



Turns out it’s part of the catch paw inside the magazine, when the magazine is actuated, this part prevents it from spinning all the way to the end.

Yeah the gusts had me watching my wind flags aka tree moss lol.

2 more challenges shot. Shooting off rest for once, 362 anniversary edition, 10M. Long for one challenge, and short for the other. But I think it all washes out, especially when using a peep sight. I couldn't even see a couple of the lead Fever targets I was shooting at.

Being 44- degrees and 7 mph wind today, it gave me the opportunity to test Hunters Supply 147gr FN- FB slugs and zero the DNT Zulus scope that I took from the Texan and now is mounted on the modified AEA 357 Challenger Big Bore. Here are some chrono numbers and a few shots it took to zero at 100 yards. I thought they grouped very well, there not precision slugs that have a tight tolerance, there for hunting. There is a correction on the 3200 psi, temp wasn't 22 it was the same 44 degrees.

Started with 5 shot groups:

Then took 2 of the better performers (also my 2 heaviest, being over 10gr) and did 10 shot groups.

Still need more testing of hold and pellets and properly sighted scope once I pick a winning performer. But was a good first look. Crosman, Benjamin, and H&N pellets fit tight in the breech. The Normas and JSB not so much.

A Good day of shooting. A little bit of wind just before dark. So I got off several more groups with the Sonoran. My first group was on steel and just a tad over sub-MOA at 100yds and then the groups opened up a little due to increasing wind. I left the Sonoran out on the table until the wind dropped quite a bit and then got off a few shots. I ended with an 8 shot sub-MOA group that looks like a five shot group.

I managed to get off a few shots with the Ghost 25 at 54yds and 101yds.

Daisy Christmas Wish Red Ryder tried out a Christmas Challenge and Air Rifle Shooting Championship target. It wasn't pretty, but it was fun.


Crosman 362 100th Anniversary did Christmas Challenge at 7 yards. It was pretty, and barely missed a perfect score.

Hello: I like buying American products and wanted to try these pellets, so I picked some up at Walmart. My first shot was in the 10-ring, so I was optimistic! Of course the wheels fell off after that but these show promise.
Rifling shows well on head and skirt compared to some other pellets I have fired. A tad heavier with a thicker skirt than the Excites that have shot well in this gun CR147 (for me). The tin is threaded and padded.
I know this looks terrible to many, once I get my eyes fixed I hope to be doing much better overall.

We just today got rid of most not all of the foot of snow from a month ago and now the weather is telling me to expect 1/2 foot of snow starting tonight ending sometime mon! Oh high today was 1/2 that 82

Trying to zero the scope on my hatsan .22 125. I haven't been able to even get it on a 3x3 piece of cardboard. It's at 30+ yards and it's windy so I have to set up a target a lot closer. Luckily I've got a large box I can just put some rocks in to anchor it and some target spots to aim at.
