Others What I learned about Pyramyd Air last night

I'm posting this update because I don't know why that shipping charge was $12 in my order process that I canceled. Just a couple days ago I figured I would try again. 6 tins, 1 tin free, all sold and shipped by Pyramyd, shipping was $8.99. So I don't know the reason for the $12 shipping other than the fact that PA was relaying the order.

P.S. Some of you may think I'm a grouchy, complaining old man, I'm really not. If I'm treated fair an am given good service, I'm an old happy camper. It just seems like the last month or so I have been receiving the wrong end of the stick.
Let us know how Barra ships your pellets, compared to Pyramyd. They seem to set the Gold standard for quality packaging and pellet tin condition.

I guess the question would be what was the per tin price at pyramid compared to barra ? We all have to realize the buy X get one free is nothing more than a sales gimmick. You are getting nothing free the tins are just marked up. Just go to trenier airguns and compare. Their per tin price is much cheaper as they have no sales gimmick. In the end ordering from them or PA ends up nearly the same price.

I'll agree with that, since it seems to be an ongoing promotion and not just a short time sale. PA isn't going to loose money. I agree that Trenier has better price per tin but it's hard to get over the $16 shipping. As far as price per tin from PA compared to Barra. Barra only sells Barra pellets and if you order Barra pellets from PA the price per tin is the same as Barra because PA is the middle man. Now I don't know what happens if you buy say 4 tins of Barra pellets through PA since Barra pellets are sold and shipped by Barra. I'm guessing that since PA is advertising products for Barra that they have some sort of agreement together.

I loaded the cart at PA and Trenier with 9 tins of JSB 18.13 in order to make free shipping at PA for a comparison.

$2.00 difference delivered to my door.

What carrier does Trenier use for shipping? As that would be a tipping point for my particular situation.

USPS and FedEx are a crapshoot at my house.

Well my Barra pellet order came. 4 tins 3 .177 in blister packs and 1 .22 loose. The shipping box was cube shaped, a little bigger than the blister pack. Blister packs were stacked and le loos tin was sideways in the box. the bos had about 3" or so of the paper packing material on top. All pellets were in good shape, no damage. So not as good as Pa but better than Amazon. Now I will say that Amazon packaging of tins depends on how the pellet manufacturer packs them. meaning that I bought 1 tin of the JBL's 18.13 pellets and when it arrived, it was in a bubble plastic mailer bag. The tin itself was in a foam square like Pa uses. So the sides of the tin were protected by the foam but the top and bottom were only protected with one layer of bubble material. It surprised me because any tins of pellets that I ever got from Amazon were loose in a box or a bubble mailer. So Pa is still on top as far as shipping pellets.

Well, sounds like Barra packing is pretty good anyway. Least they trying. I've gotten pellets from ebay that were somehow waterlogged, while packing was dry as a bone. That was my last from them, will never order pellets again from the 'bay.
