What did you buy/receive today?

I have a bunch of .22 AEA pellets, but I haven’t been shooting .22 much, until the last couple of days. I will say this: I’ve shot a bunch of JSB Hades pellets 15.89 gr. The condition of the skirts is terrible. I’m not talking about a kink here or there. Lots of crushed skirts. These were shipped packed in foam and double packed etc.. I shoot 99% AEA pellets in my .30s and ,25 Ghost and I don’t see this issue. To be fair ,22 skirts are more delicate. Maybe I will pull a random tin each of AEA and JSB .22 pellets and compare a similar sample of the skirts. And we are back to the excellent quality of the Norma .22 pellets and now they’re gone

Man I'm sure glad I bought a load of them when I did. I haven't tried any of the JSB's below the 18 grain ones, and all the cans of the 15.89 Hades I have are a couple years old now, and they look great. Know about the condition of the FX 15.89branded ones?

15gr JSBs are what I have, and lots of crushed skirts. I have never cared to try any other JSB after that experience, until my blue streak.

Those JSBs are way to expensive to get cans full of crushed skirts. Yeah, I sure won't buy any more. Will try the AEAs, see how i like them.

I’ve shot a lot of both brands now and they’re both good, but AEA seem to be more consistent. @FL22 may very well be right, in that the JSB may just be softer lead.

Always liked the look of the Tormenta (Myth? in Europe), but short barrel & no shroud concerns me for noise. I’m in the county & can even shoot PB in my yard (but I won’t), but I prefer to shoot quietly. One neighbor is a security officer at the area federal nuke weapons plant, & former Airborne, so he knows big booms but I still prefer to operate on the near-silent side.

I might pick up a used one someday & see about adding a shroud & OldCrow moderator.

After cleaning the bore, I smacked on a Redcorn moderator. It's quiet now. Without it, it definitely is not a backyard friendly airgun! Your right about that short barrel, it's much louder than my Daystar! I dont know why Reximex bothers with that little thingy they have threaded on. It's about as effective as a fart in a hurricane.

100% agree Bill. Those Norma heavies gonna be missed by a buncha folks, me included. The way so much noise went on about the change in the CPHP , and not a peep to be heard about the Normas going away. And there is no comparison in the 2.

They are mighty soft. Maybe more pure lead, less alloy additives?

now I dont want to put blame anywhere especially the makers
but I know the employees of our beloved delivery services, UPS-FEDX-or USPS would never do a Hail Mary pass from the end of my drive and then claim they set it on my front porch
so we can look at bent skirts with a grain of salt
Im going to miss the Norma Heavy-the lighter goes all over, but the heavy is a tack driver at 37y
