CO2 Vintage Smith and Wesson 78g

[Elexious Musick]

This is a Smith and Wesson 78g .22 caliber CO2 single shot pellet pistol. It was designed by Smith and Wesson and closely resembles their Model 41. These airguns are very accurate and hard-hitting. I had Rick Willnecker of Precision Pellet go through and reseal it. I bought it from an estate auction, came with the original box and paperwork. Manufactured from 1970 to 1977. Daisy purchased the rights to manufacture these airguns, but the quality and performance of their versions aren't like the original Smith and Wesson pistols. Another heirloom piece for the collection.

I had Rick go through it because he's the best. I've restored/resealed many Crosman air pistols. Seven 150s, five 357s, four 38Ts and the list goes on...

Good stuff - the only Crosman I have not attempted a reseal on my own is the 600. Sent that one to the 600 master - Henry Ford - for a reseal.

Henry Ford has done five of my 600s. Michael's Lock Stock and Barrel one. I have another 600 I'm going to send to Rick. I think Henry Ford is overrated, especially for the price of his work.

I don't have a price point reference to determine if that's valid so I will need to take your word on it. You seem to have some good resources for work on the older airguns. I may have to reach out for some referrals if I need some work on other older pistols.

I need the seals replaced on my Model 78 but I am aware that my mechanical ability is probably not up to fixing my gun. Any idea of what it would cost me to get the seals replaced? Thanks
