....well, there ain't one.

After stumbling across this rifle (that sure LOOKS like a "Black" model) I had to reach out to Diana and ask about it.



This was their nice response:



So, there you have it. Model 48 Black, yes. All others - no. Unless it was maybe (maaaaybe) a one off/factory sample, etc.

Still, a very cool rifle to me, and very, very accurate.
Maybe I'll get some of those WWII Flying Tiger nose art decals to put on the tips of the forend....

Looks good . I would think a air gun guy may of owned it that was a furniture refinishing or restoration guy put some of his skill on that wood .. why not .?

That's what I thought when I first bought it, just a paint job. Then I realized that it wasn't any kind of rattle can, etc work. Then I found out about the D48 Black and compared.
That led me to web searches and finally an answer. Still, it really does seem like a factory job. Nice work, and I'm a purist so it kills me.to paint over wood....

I have never seen this one before. I remember the 48 in Black. Can't remember seeing a real pic. Don't remember it looking that good though.
