Others Talon SS issue

I was considering buying another Barra 250z but in .25. But then reading the posts about the Talon P. My only concern is the low shot count, I’m mostly just shooting in my backyard. I have plenty of range and loudness is not an issue. I like the idea of using it as both handgun and a lightweight carbine. I think it might be a good candidate for teaching my pre-teen grandkids offhand shooting. I also like making my own add-ons and this platform seems like a great candidate for that. I’m almost convinced.

Do it Bill! I was so very stupid, I should have bought one of these when they came out 20 years ago, all that time wasted.

I just got mine today. This thing is a total hoot! A little 12" barrel, a 20-year old design, and shooting 43gr Eugins at 56fpe! And it's not that loud either, I have the carbine version with the big can on it and it works pretty well considering the power and the short barrel. It only got louder when the pressure got low and blew past, in it's shot zone it's fine.

I am basically doing what @PasadenaMike said, filling to 2500psi and shooting down to 2000, using JSB 34gr MKII and I get 10 shots from 800 - 830 - 800 spread. That's right over 50fpe. The power wheel is at 9ish. I didn't want a high shot count, I was just hoping for five shots over 50fpe and I got 10 and it's not half as loud as everyone had me believing it would be. I am one happy camper with this this thing. The guy I bought it from threw in a tankbag cheekrest that works nicely too. I have a Surefire flashlight mounted foreward of the foregrip to shine eyes, and a Bushell TRS-25 dot sight mounted. I still have to zero it, but I got quite a lot done and figured in just a couple hours of ownership. I am pretty stoked about it.

Should be here on Friday lol.

I found out today that my fill numbers were wrong because my guage reads 500psi low. I am actually filling to 3000psi and shooting down to 2500psi. This does make more sense, since I am running the hammerspring on 9.

I worked on a new piece of rubber for the butt stock today. I have to get ahold of some contact cement. I did end up shooting without the suppressor and man, that is loud. Now I'm super impressed with how well the AirForce can works.

I went through a whole thread once of someone iteratively trying to make a moderator that worked better, and best he ever managed was about equivalent.

There is a lot to like with it. It has its own big male threads, so nobody can say it works on a pb, and the way it does connect makes it really rugged, even though short it is fat enough to work well. The only thing that could potentially be a problem is that it could be off center enough to clip because it is not directly threaded to the barrel. Could, but it is doubtful, the tube holding the barrel would had to have taken major damage itself for that to happen, I would think. I would like to be able to take it apart to clean, that is the one thing that I would have changed on it. A great unit all around. There was a lot of thinking going on, outside of the box, when these guns were originally designed, that's for sure!
