Me , him some guy on the street can tell you it's the greatest thing ever / nuttin better but you may get it and find that it's not ( for you) ..
In the end it's a more expensive glorified hw95.( Opinion)

OK everyone - I bought an R11 in .177 yesterday at the Carlisle show. The very satisfying weight and weight distribution jumped out at me immediately when I picked it up and put it to my shoulder. Feels like a million bucks, possibly better than any other rifle I've handled including the FWB 300s.
The comb happened to be adjusted well for me as it sits, so I got the same experience when it comes to fit. It's a natural match for me whether I tweak it later or not.
Fired one round last night to get a feel for it - very smooth & clean cocking stroke/firing cycle.
It's "like buddah" if you know what I mean.
I'll have to pay close attention to things once I get a chance to truly handle & shoot it, but my initial impression is that they may put a little something extra into the 98's. It seems to be more highly polished, and is smoother cocking than any of my other HWs for example. Hope it shoots better than the others too but that's a tall order.
Yes, you could call it a bench version of the 95, but I'm pretty sure that would be selling it short.

Well, did a little "goof off" shooting with the R11. The extra polishing shows in the extra smooth cocking feel. It really is buttery smooth!
It breaks open with effort, but nothing I'd object to - lockup is very positive but not ridiculous to open. Everything moves and clicks precisely as it should, and the rifle "settles" beautifully. Trigger is excellent of course, and once tripped the firing cycle is quick and clean. Not that much different from my FWB Sport actually, and both rifles are making 14 or so fpe.
When I switched to FTTs, the firing cycle seemed to have improved over the 7.0 wadcutters I had started with, so I'll try it with 9.3 SuperMags soon. I'm optimistic for sure, though the proved to be a little long for the FWB Sport. Accuracy has been spot on.
I threw an old Bushnell 6-18x40 Scope Chief on it, and it doesn't seem top-heavy so it may stay, at least for a while. It juuust fits where it needs to,
but its good glass for sure.

Semi-serious shooting around in my basement tonight. 6X is a little too much magnification to focus my scope with at 9 yards. I'm aiming at diamond points, so I knew they would be blurry and lead to elevation variation.
My rifle clearly likes the 9.3 grain RWS Supermag wadcutters. Here are 6 shots but the one to the right is pre-windage adjustment so ignore it. The other 5 show exactly the sort of vertical string I was expecting. I am extremely pleased.
I shot this last group after I realized just how quickly the stock screws loosen up (real quick!), which in turn immediately loosens up my groups. Had me chasing my tail for a few minutes, as it only took 3 or 4 shots to see POI change. There is a some Vibra-Tite in that rifle's future, for sure!
Anyway, there is some chance that I can get some 25 yard shooting in on Sunday. If so I'll find out more and post for whoever has an interest.

Well, I did get a little time in at the range.
And the R11 proved itself to be the real deal!
Understand that the wind was pretty heavy but even more unpredictable. My range session was an exercise in patience, but it paid off.
I kept my target at 25 yards, and tried to shoot as fast as I could in the moments when the wind was relatively calm. Not exactly my preference! But even with all of the shots that weren't meant to be "good" I did get e few chances to shoot this:
into groups like this:
(lower right.hole was.point of aim for the 3 in the upper left)
And this:
(3 more shots, point of aim was top of diamond)
I am beyond impressed with this rifle.
All my shooting was done under duress and I'm not exactly a match shooter. All credit goes to the rifle.
Can't wait for some nasty, sweaty, dead air Summer days to see what it can really do!
