At the recent 2024 Pyramyd Cup, I was pleased to meet-up with Tom and Janine Simmon. They are the owners of High Pressure Pneumatics, a specialist airgun dealer that is creating a high profile for itself among serious shooters. That’s the two of them in our heading photograph above – they’re very friendly, knowledgeable people
Tom explained to me that High Pressure Pneumatics – or HPP for short – was opened back in July 2017. The company is based in Harrison, a small town approximately in the center of Michigan. It’s a family concern, run primarily by the couple themselves.
As a business, HPP’s value proposition is based on three core values: product range, specialist knowledge and top-quality service.
The photos accompanying this story show the HPP physical store. As you can see, HPP has a wide variety of air rifles in stock.
Having worked in the sporting goods industry for over 25 years, Tom spied an opportunity to supply High Pressure Air tanks, fittings and fills for PCPs to local airgunners. That was the start of HPP and it’s grown from there…
Below. There’s plenty of ammo too. Look at all those boxes of NSA slugs!
Now HPP has a new, enlarged retail store for local customers. As a stocking dealer, the company enables walk-ins to see and handle air rifles from many brands – something that’s not too common nowadays.
In fact that applies not only to high-end models, but to price-point airguns, too. That’s particularly helpful for newcomers to the airgunning world.
Below. Accessories? Yip!
More than that, the HPP “Shooting Shack” offers a two-lane, 100-Yard range. It’s used for customer trials and also by Tom himself to test air rifles before shipment.
Yes, HPP also has an extensive website and receives orders from all over the US. Higher-end guns – typically those over $1,000.00 or so – are tested before shipment.
Leak testing is part of this no-charge service, as is accuracy testing and associated documentation for the customer. Tom aims to ensure that his Internet customers benefit from high levels of service, just as much as his walk-in clientele.
Below. Here’s a sample of the test documentation as provided by HPP to their high-end air rifle customers. It’s all part of the HPP service. Note the 5-shot, 50 Yard group. That’s great shooting, Tom!
If required, HPP can also supply, install and sight-in riflescopes. Tuning services are also available. In these cases, a phone call to High Pressure Pneumatics is highly-recommended prior to placing an on-line order.

Turn-around time from placement of online orders to shipping-out obviously depends on the amount of services involved. However Tom tells me it’s typically just one or two business days.
He also stressed that quality comes first – long experience teaches that this is the best way to create and keep happy customers. So HPP will not rush an order by skimping on essential work – Tom wants all his customers to be delighted with the service they receive from his company.
Below, you can add a HPP hat to your order, too.
As an integral part of the Michigan airgun scene, High Pressure Pneumatics also runs benchrest matches and other competitions in association with local clubs. That’s another way that Tom keeps a tight feel on the pulse of the airgun market.
So – if you’re in Michigan – it’s worth driving over to Harrison. If you’re further afield, HPP is just this one click away…
Either way, Tom and Janine will be pleased to help you. Tell them that you read about HPP in Hard Air Magazine!
